DoN JC progression

Hi, I've just made 279 in JC (excluding trophy) but I'm struggling to find vendor recipes beyond that. Are there new JC recipes in DoN? Can anyone recomment anything? I'm looking at vendor harvesting diamonds to get me up to 300 with trophy at the moment.

Velium Ruby Veil should take you to 282. After that, the easiest (no farming) way would probably be Gem Studded Chains...don't stack (unless they changed that) and cost around 250p per attempt. (You'll need your silver enchanted, but that's a really low level Enchanter spell.)

On a side note, diamonds, black sapphires, jacinths, and BDs aren't hard to find on vendors (at least on Inny) anymore. They drop with more frequency than they once did. There are a lot of options beyond 279 involving these gems (which I'm sure you saw, since you mentioned diamonds.)

I'd suspect chains aren't a bad idea. I'm sure there are going to be at least a few people out there doing solstice robes for skill ups and will be using up chains. As long as you have space to hold them and the Cash reserve to not need the money back right away I'd expect you can sell alot of chains from a vendor. Might even check the new barter zone and look for people looking to buy them already =0

I'm allergic to smithing, I think it's a hang over from when my paly did it (cancelled r.i.p) so I'm hoping the baz fills up with people selling the blank chains

Does anyone know the sell back cost on a completed chain? I'll just hold out for diamonds if it's a total loss maker.

NPC's buy it for around 14 plat and sell it at about 24 plat. Found some on a vendor lately hehe.

I'm trading Ceremonial Solstice Robes straight across for Gem Studded Chains. *grin*

I got to 282 on velium ruby veil, then used up all the black sapphires, diamonds, and blue diamonds I could find on any vendor anywhere and got to 284. Then made gem studded chains to 286. I'm currently working on doing about 70 ceremonial solstice robe combines (interrupted due to patch) to skill up my 257 tailoring, then once those run out, I'll be back to making more chains to skill up jewelcraft and prepare for more tailoring skill ups.

Very expensive, but it works.

Using the combine just above my raw skill (all combines green).
Combine till trivial, sell excess stones back to merchant.
Enchanting the plat bars (about 5pp extra sell back, per item)
Well worth the 84pp for mass enchant spells.
Sell results to merchant Cha 355.

1st run
13 skillups
192pp per skill up (2496pp)

263 skill + trophy + JCM 3+ Salvage 3 + 405 int
2nd run
15 skill ups
280pp per skill up.(4200pp)

Salvage did kick a few times, usually returning the enchanted plat bar.

Well I'm at 291 skill now, and all merchants are out of blue diamonds. Working on gem studded chains to skill up both jewelcraft & tailoring now.

If anyone has any ideas for skilling up jewelcraft over 291 other than gem studded chains & blue diamond plat/velium, please let me know.

Does anyone know of a vendor for black sapphires? Sources lists nothing but i've been told they're on a vendor somewhere

I have done 200 combines (Platinum Star Ruby Veil, 271) and only got 1 skillup to 251....

I have the Grandmaster toy which is getting me to 263 at the moment, I have roughly 300 INT (without KEI, only seeing 260 of it at 61), and it has costed me roughly 1k so far because I failed a number of combines.

Any tips on faster skillups? I am a long way away from the JC AA's, but have some money available to up the INT a bit more if it uses the invisible portion of the INT. I have KEI casted on my by default, it adds 25 INT and regens my mana for the enchanting of metals.

Tips?
