  • I am a Grandmaster Jeweler! Woohoo! But now what?

After blood, sweat, tears and an estimated 14k in platinum I have finally reached the status of Grandmaster Jeweler of a un-modified skill of 250, and 252 with my new Grandmaster Jeweler's Eyepiece that I successfully created on the first try! (After another 6k or so in materials and working up my pottery skill to 120-something).

I have a few questions though now that I have reached this status.

    - Browsing through the recipes, I find many items with a trivial skill of ABOVE 250, some of them even ABOVE 300. Does that mean that we may be able to increase our skills in the future, or is it just a matter of "luck" when combining these recipes?

    - Since I have a Grandmaster Jeweler's Eyepiece, and the skill will not rise above 252 in any way with the 5% modifier, my Geerlok Gem Setter is now useless right? Is there any reason why I should keep it? If not, I will give it to a beginning jeweler in our guild that I know.

    - If there are any newly found recipes, where should I check? On this board? What are the chances we actually find new recipes? I presume that pretty much everything in GoD has been discovered, perhaps the Omens of War will bring us new stuff? Or are there still some gem/metal combinations that have not been tried yet?

Maybe it's just luck or something but I have done prolly 60 combines on items that triv at 302 and I have failed 2 times. I got 58 successes out of 3 stacks velium polished quartz and geode pieces. Bad part is I am full to the brim with them and they aren't selling all too well anymore.

Yep it was luck. However, 60 is still not that big a sample size.

If you're an enchanter you can always take the jewelcraft AA to decrease you amount of failures. The geerlok is worthless once you get your trophy and I'm sure your up-and-coming jeweler would love you forever if you let her use it.
