You have to do a Quest to be able to unlock the recipe. Kind of suxs 250 jewler and I have to do a newby quest (.

You can hand it in to convert it or do the prgressive quests so that you can do it yourself. The NPC's are the jewelry merchants on the Queen of Thorns.

(see that Moderator tag - well that is for the Vazaelle marketplace, my posts and opinions should not be considered as anything but my own and not reflect poorly on the folks doing all the hard stuff here. )

I did the 4-step quest last night... to my dismay when I put one raw pale nihilite into the jewelry bag and hit combine, I only got one pale nihilite... whereas if I give it to the vendor, she always gives me two back.

You get better at it the more you do it.

You, eventually, will be able to refine 3 from each sample.

Ok where does this drop? I have seen it being sold for ove 1000 pp each in the bazaar which is just too much.

Do we have any idea what the better/more metric is based on? Is it JC skill, or some hidden number?

Frankly, these drops aren't that common, and I really don't feel like "practicing" if I have do do hundreds in order to get "better."

Be interesting if someone keeps a tally of how many combines it took to get from 1 to 2 per combine, then from 2 to 3. However, no one has attempted to do such as far as I know.

Considering the results from the "readily" available pale nihilite and aligned ore, I can't blame anyone for not doing the tally, either. (Readily in quotes because these items are currently going for 2 to 5 k in my Bazaar, and the shimmering versions are unavailable at all)

                    Problem with progressive quest

For some reason, Gilrina won't give me anything past the first quest, I went through the dialogue, told her what work? and she gives me the spool of wire, I've combined (and given her) approximately 18 stacks of the clasps, but she still won't give me the 2nd stage.

And therein lies my stupidity, I should have been giving her them 1 at a time, like any other hand in, and not stacks at a time.. I hate myself right now.

Ack... The pain and the shame... What a fool. My chanter did EXACTLY the same thing. I wondered why 300 hand-ins had got me nowhere...

i'm at the first step of the quest doing the simple clasps. I am *SURE* i have done more than 100... turning in a stack at a time. I"m doing it with teh reinforced JC kit..

She isn't progressing me past the simple clasp part. Here's the interesting twist. I wasn't able to kill the critters on teh Natimbi broken shores beach so a friend and i multi quested the reinforced kit. So *NOW* i'm trying to do the newbie jewelry quest... and it's not going well.

I'd recommend that people do the newbie quest before doing the reinforced part.... i just might have to go bakc and get the no drop shell myself and turn it all in again just so i can get the other quest to acknowledge me. Don't know.

You must turn in each item one at a time (up to 4 per turn in). Stacks count as one item...
