  • PoNb entrance since flag changes

Alright, I've wanted to get an Ivory Skull for quite some time... actually a few. Problem is the flags for PoNb... neither me nor my friends are in big guilds to get that flag.
Now, many flags have been removed. Plane of Torment was specifically mentioned. Plane of Torment comes after the natural progression of PoNb, or Crypt of Terris Thule. So, can I get into PoNb now with no flags?
If so how exactly do I do it? I know it's behind some big nasty guards at the east side of PoN. Is it a clicking zone like all of PoP I have seen before? Do I /have/ to kill those big nasty guards to get in? Thanks in advance =)

You only need to click on the gate behind them.
I have a nasty suspicion they see invis. Not sure about invis. undead though.
Just sow and zerg the gate and click like mad. If you think you can safely kill in PoNB then you should be strong enough to take the few hits you might get.
And if you do rush the gate and you are not able to get in then you are dead cos they hit hard.

Anyway - try invis and invis undead first - rush the gate if they still see you and cross your fingers. Might want to have a cleric handy. It is the few moments of indecision as you try clicking and maybe get the " you lack " message before you turn and try to run away that they will kill you. If it is any consolation you should only have to try this once. Maybe try pacify/harmony if you have the option.

The group I'm planning on taking is: 65 monk, 64 druid, 60 cleric, 60 enchanter. We're in fact two people both two boxing, and very skilled. Got plenty plans for how to get in safely. Just wondering if it's worth the effort or not =)

Last time I went to PoNb, the guards didn't aggro on me. I thoght that was strange. I didn't take my time but usually they swing at me at least once. I zoned in and zoned out without getting hit at all. Didn't have invis or ivu either. It is possible somone casted pacification on them and being level 65, they didn't aggro on me.

On another thought, if this zone is now open, which I am not sure at this time, I would think that they are open to level 63 or above, like it is for Bot etc. If that is the case, you alts would not have access to the zone. Just a thought.

Ok I wish people would stop saying flags have been removed.

FLags have not been removed from the game. All flags and alternate entry qeusts are still in the game. The flags are still required to progress into the elemental planes.

The only thing that was changed is the REQUIREMENT of having the flag to enter the zone for experience purposes was removed from the following zones and a level restriction imposed in its place.

          Level 55 and over
          Plane of Storms
          Plane of Torment
          Plane of Valor
          Crypt of Decay

          Level 62 and over
          Bastion of Thunder
          Halls of Honor

These 5 zones and only these 5 zones have had the flag requirement for entry removed. To go to any other zones in the pop progression you have to go get the appropriate flags.

Actually, when we went to pull the guardians, Harmony of nature worked on them so we could single pull. Might could just lull them and mosy on by without them being overly attentive.

Although they are 6 individual zones, Plane of Storms and Plane of Valor share a flag. I think that is what Borblefoot was referring to.

Alright, I've answered my own question.
Harmonied the guards and dashed in. Click-Click-Click-Click- You lack the will to pass through this portal safely.
So, Plane of Torment is unlocked for 55+ but Crypt of Terris Thule is not. =(

Crypt of Terris Thule (PoN(b)) was not one of the zones they opened up in the recent patch, and therefore, you cannot enter without completing the hedge maze. That's the bad news.

The good news is that the hedge maze does not require a raid force. You need 18 people and you can recruit strangers if you don't have enough friends. The key to successful completion is a good enchanter (and preferably a good bard with Dreams of Thule too). The last fight is no tougher than the final fight in the Trial of Execution in PoJ but the maze doesn't have the time constraints. Just mez Thelin anytime the mobs pop (this should be the bard's job, so enchanters can concentrate on mezzing the actual mobs) and then have the chanter memblur when you're ready to move on. You can control the pace and stop if people need to med, rez, etc. with that tactic.

                    Good luck.

I'd suggest 2 61+ enchanters if you can dig them up - Rapture just can't keep up with the last mob pop or two.

I wonder if it's a bug and they had intended to open PoNB. In the May 9th Future Plans article, they said:

To correct this issue, we will be removing the flag requirements for entry into the following Planes of Power zones:

                        Bastion of Thunder
                        Plane of Tactics
                        Halls of Honor
                        Plane of Nightmare
                        Plane of Storms
                        Plane of Torment
                        Plane of Valor
                        Crypt of Decay
Plane of Nightmare is mentioned, which doesn't make sense as there were no flag requirements for entry to begin with. I wonder if they intended to say Plane of Nightmare B, and that it got mistyped.

Then later in the Upcoming Plans for June 11th article, they removed mention of PoN:

To correct this issue, we will be allowing characters to enter the following Planes of Power zones by meeting a simple level requirement:

                        Level 55 and over
                        Plane of Storms
                        Plane of Torment
                        Plane of Valor
                        Crypt of Decay

                        Level 62 and over
                        Bastion of Thunder
                        Halls of Honor
My suspicion is that someone else at SOE noticed that PoN shouldn't be in the list, and removed it altogether, not realizing it was a typo.

Plane of Nightmare B is for killing terris only. The tradeskill item is just something extra. The zone is really for terris and that's it. God areas should not be open for those who didn't earn it. HoHb is not open. Inner CoD is not open. Tactics is not open. This is a good thing. If you cant do the mobs to get to the boss, you cant do the respective boss.

                            1. Do the hedge maze event. 18 people. Bring good tanks, healers and CC. Its lots of fun.

2a. Kill the guardians. There are lvl 65 and easy 1-groupers for their level. SK mobs so expect to eat a 1k HT if you get too close. They can be harmonied and snared easily.

                            b. Harmony the guardians and run past. Click the *middle* of the gate.

                            c. Snare and drag the guardians away then run around them into the zone. (I did this twice, naked after wipes to Terris.)

I think the mobs in PoNb are like any other pop mob. Hit like trucks and low HP. Didnt tank them or get hit by any of em so im not sure on how hard. I know our raid mowed em down like they were tissue paper.

If I remember correctly, I did have to get flagged to enter PoN. However, it was just talking to the person in the sick room. It wasn't a difficult flag, and had no prerequisites like some other flags. That may be the flag that they were talking about removing.

If that's the case, then that would explain why they specifically mentioned Plane of Nightmare in the list of zones that had flagging requirements changed.
