To the best of our collective knowledge, have there been any combines discovered without an in-game source for the recipe?
An example would have been the Bristlebane Party Platter, where you had to guess the recipe. Granted, the Platter was an extreme case which was perhaps too hard to guess.
I guess what I'm thinking is that for the next expansion, VI would announce, "We have implemented 126 new smithing recipes, 314 new brewing recipes, ... and 71 new alchemy recipes. However, none of the recipes are available through in-game sources such as books or NPC quest text. It is up to players to experiment and find the new combinations. Some of the new recipes require items from this expansion, but many only use items that previously existed in the game."
How would you guys feel about that? Would it be more interesting for you if we had to experiment to find items, rather than just read books? (And yes, I made up those numbers by randomly hitting the number pad.
