Oh its really for a guild quest

The idea is to send new recruits on a groundspawn hunt so that they may learn the lay of the lands. THis is 1 of 4 parts of the work-in-progress guildinitiation quest.

The groundspawns themselves are valueless, it's the process of getting them that counts. I could have made it forages, but not everyone can forage. I could also have listed a bunch of mob dropped weapons or armor, but that's not level apropriate. Getting groundspawns is the same for all levels (although the really really low levels can have problems, but they'll have a problem with any quest). So I'm basically looking for remote locations (not next to a spire, ring or book) that are relatively safe and have a regular farely common groundspawn, (preferably no drop, because there's always one that buys the lot in the bazaar, I would).

There's also the old silver coins for the Tashania quest in Neriak Commons, South Kaladim, Ak'anon, Gukta (?), Oggok, North Qeynos, Halas, North Felwithe, Erudin Palace, and West Freeport.

Speaking from experience. If you get those VP Key spawns you might as well go ahead and do the rest of the quest if your guild can farm Trakanon for the teeth.

Couple of others

There's the silver ring for the Paw of Opolla quest at the bottom of the pool in Blackburrow, plus the ripped book page (can't remember the name) that spawn near the Froglok merchant in Innothule for the Froglok newbie quest.

Now that folks are having fun trying to wrack their brains for ground spawns all over the place, I'd really like to see this list when it is done, though when there is a static location for something (such as the berries in Misty), it'd also be nice to have a /loc. (I know this is impossible for things like the ground spawns in the faerie village in LFay, etc., but even general areas help.)

One of the absolute last things to go into the database (and it'll likely continue after launch, since I have so much on my plate) will be ground spawn info for tradeskill items.

I have no idea how many ground spawns there actually are, but I don't think we've scratched the surface yet.

It would be nice to have a loc so if people can supplement the list with those too, that would be nice.

Acorn locs

My druid has been searching Misty high and low...here are the locs I've found acorns:

-829, 912
-911, 855
-574, 863
-777, 1026

Managed 7 acorns in about 6 hrs, randomly foraging and searching.

I found Deep Soil in the Hole, not sure what its used for but its a ground spawn. Right when you get to the ledge of "no return" for melee's in that pit down there I found it. Deep Soil. Any ideas on its use?

The locs for the 4 permafrost crystal ground spawns in permafrost are:

loc of 2 crystals is 264.40, n9.96, n24.87
loc of 1 crystal is 276.84, 424.42, n38.78
loc of 1 crystal is 463.30, 362.80, n38.84

Actually another thought, if this list is going to be used in the TS DB, then perhaps not only posting locs and zones, but also including what TS the item is for (or denote it non-TS). With that thought, regarding my last post above, the permafrost crystals are for the divine glaze in pottery, used to fire several high level pottery items.

Hmm just had another thought re ground spawns. Why not have marked maps (ie from eqatlas.com) or modify the ingame maps to include the ground spawn locs. As a potter, I already modified my own eqatlas map for the permafrost crystals, as I'm a lost druid, but it can be done for all TS related groundspawns.

There's a bone? paladins need for a spell quest (form phinny's lair).

For the Strength of the Elements quest, the part in skyfire is a ground spawn.

For the 3rd? coldain ring, the smithing part...there is a skinning knife you have to pick up in EW.
