My guild is only missing a GM potter & baker, but we have several at 200+geerlock. Oh, and no tinkerer.

Having GM jeweler, brewer, 3 blacksmiths (human, DE and high elf), tailor (halfling), wood elf fletcher. And 200 fishing, pottery and baking. And 125+ alchemy. Well, we can pretty much gather supplies and just ask for combines to be done on a majority of items in game.

We have nearly all 50+ characters with PoTC earrings for example. Many of the characters have Black Acrylia weapons made by the guild farming components.

      Guilds

I hate to say it but I would be surprised if a tradeskiller guild would work at the high end. This simple reason for this is competition.

Whether you like it or not the other tradeskillers are your competition. You compete with them both for resources and on prices. While I do help and work with other tradeskillers its a simple fact that I am worse off economically with more tradeskillers around as prices for ingredients go up and prices for end products go down.

Further, if I am the only tradeskiller in a guild then I pretty much get all the tradeskill drops. I skill up fast and make a reasonable profit. My guild wants to help me because it gets them access to hi end crafted items. If I am 1 of 20 tradeskillers then I am only going to get 1 in 20 drops. Sure there may be more drops of the low level items if your tradeskill guild "raids" tradeskill spawns but at the high end there is not enough tradeskill oriented mobs to feed an entire guild. You will skillup slower at the high end tho you might benefit at the low end.

Secondly most tradeskillers by nature are not super powerful. We have all those tradeskills because we gave up experiencing and getting gear. The "raids" we can do are not going to be that great if everyone is off tradeskilling as opposed to levelling.

I DO think that a tradeskill guild would be great for the low and mid ranges but I would be surprised to see it work at the high end game. It will only work for people who arent in it for loot and high end encounters.

I do believe the solution would be to join a channel for tradeskillers and have a defacto guild. It is a shame we cant belong to a merchant guild in addition to our normal guilds. I know most of the other tradeskillers on my server and will help all of them if asked. I have had a few others in the same guild at timebut I think by nature they are spread amongst all the most powerful guilds.

          guild versus channel

Why make a guild? Is the purpose so that you can have a communication mechanism (i.e. /guild)? If so, why not use channels. The only advantage a guild offers is a different way to handle security (being a member to use /guild versus having to password and moderate a chat channel). A community via channels would miss out on having the guild tag floating above their heads... not too important.

A tradeskill channel local to your server would allow you to synergize with other tradeskillers while allowing them to retain their guild/raid status.

I recalled seeing your guild as the Povar Tarew Artisans quite a while back. Had been wondering if Alliance was indeed the same guild since Artisans was now gone (though never got around to asking). Thanks for clearing that up.

The "raids" we can do are not going to be that great if everyone is off tradeskilling as opposed to levelling.
Sometimes the game isn't about leveling, or money-- at least, to me. Sometimes it's about fun, and the joys of giving something small away-- and seeing it snowball. Shoot, I got a year's play out of a set of red fine plate greaves; every time I see banded armor on a young troll I wonder if it's a set I made and handed out in Grobb. That's what I remember about Grobb, it's the day I spent making tunics and pants out of the rusty weapons I picked up in Southern Ro. I was level 24, and broke, but the couple gold I coulda made off selling those weapons was worth less than clothing a few naked trolls.

And so freakin' what if your "guild raid" is a guild trot from Qeynos to Freeport, with a stop in Rivervale to buy jumjum, shouting "Free muffins" in every zone and baking as you go? Can't that be fun, too? I'd join a guild to do that. Hell, I'll do it all by myself when I get back online. Gonna have to scare up some eggs for dough, and make a muffin pan...

Muffins Across Antonica. Anyone else want to play?

On Drinal there aren't any tradeskill guilds that I'm aware of.

My guild Divine Intervention has a pretty hearty group of dedicated tradeskillers think we cover gm's in every skill atm and are working to spread out the cultural bases. We also raid exp and do other things as well
