  • has their been a guild made yet just for tradeskillers?

i am curious of this haven't personally seen one myself .. but i would be seriously interested in something like this on the server i am on .... what would others think about it? ... a guild mostly for alts i would say ... for the ones that you build just to tradeskill with ... i am sure there are some out there that wouldn't mind having a place on their local server to get a quick peice they need for this combine or the other without having to take time to search for it ...

    comments?

or if you are interested in something like this and on Solusek Ro let me know...

On Torv, the Fighting Chefs of Norrath seem to be into tradeskills, not sure that is all they do. There used to be a few members of Tradeskill Coallition but I haven't seen them lately. They were into tradeskills.

A friend of mine of VZ (who might read these boards but I'm not sure) is muttering about starting a tradeskillers guild over here.
Itzena Alhazared, Revenant of {Planeteers}, Vallon Zek. And also a seamstress.
Gelcea Macha, Wandering Animist of Tarew Marr. Will be a smith, one day.

            Tradeskilling Guild

On Mithaniel Marr, there used to be an active tradeskilling guild, although the name escapes me at the moment. I am not sure what happened to them, but now tradeskillers can be found in more traditional family or raid guilds.

i have reached a point after over 2 years of playing that just leveling in the game is boring .. and did the PvP thing for about 8 months as well ... almost quit the game then i got hooked on tradeskills lol ...

yeah i know there are the people that are in normal guilds that do tradeskills as well ... so far tho i have yet to find a family type guild ... most of them i try end up being more of a dictatorship that get mad if ya dont lvl at least once a week ... quite a few of those groups have had great people in em and i am still friends with most of them .. but the overall feeling i got from tha guilds wasn't good ... thats why i am interested in one that would be focused on something other then lvling ...

Our guild on the Xev server (Originally the Povar Tarew Artisans) was the tradeskill guild on the server, however many of our members become more actively interested in raiding. Many months back we reformed under a new charter as the Povar Tarew Alliance that you see today.

The tradeskill guild on Mithaniel Marr is called Norrathian Trade Alliance. It was the first guild I ever joined, back about 2 years ago, and its still going strong.

                    THE Tradeskill guild

On Vallon Zek I have toyed around with this idea a while. In order for it to work the guild:

                    1. Has to be mainly ALTs of higher level people with a core group of main tradeskillers. This will give the lower level members access to higher level components. It will also allow those that are into raiding the ability to continue with their favorite chars, while still having the support of those deeply involved in tradeskilling.

                    2. Dedicated to helping other members skill-up in their various concentrations

                    3. Not loot or level oriented, except where these affect tradeskilling.

Nhin even suggested the name "The Encumbered" for obvious reasons.

If interest, send me a PM or tell in-game. As EQ winds down I am becoming more and more interested in making this happen.

Most of the people/characters i see on Tallon Zek, that are intersted in tradeskills, are in regular guilds and do their own things on their own time. I personally would love a guild like that and am tempted to put my main in it. Hey what can i say Tradeskills are fun, more fun then hunting for me. So hey, if you are on TZ drop me line.

Interesting thread. I'm on Veeshan and know of no such guild, but if someone does, please let me know. I'd like to talk to them.

Now that sounds neat, i would make a char just to join an all trader guild, i think it would be fun even if there where alts that had higher skill levels in certain trade skills, it would be a good time to just kick back, bake, forage or farm together, or just have someone to talk to while you are attempting to get those elusive HQ pelts.
                            Thanks again

                              While the concept sounds interesting...

Wouldn't all your guildmates be competeing directly with you for components? I mean it's bad enough competing for rare drops (metallic liquid anyone?) with strangers, how are you going to handle divvying up the spoils? Unless there's only 7-8 of you, and you al pick a different tradeskill, then share the things you don't need for YOUR tradeskill. I may be dense, but I fail to see the advantages. Price fixing in the Bazaar?
