  • The Future of tradeskill advancement

So what is gonna happen to the tradeskills now that they are almost dead? With poison making taking over as the dominant TS to have, what will happen to the others? The only reason I see is to max a trophy. We have to find a solution for going past the 300 skill level, what is the real problem here a simple algorithm? How about refund all those AA we spent on those retarded individual TS mastery AA and just lump them all in 1? And do they have to cost so dam much to take focus away from the class? To spend 125+ AA just for tradeskills is either really stupid or really brilliant and you might as well create a new class or subclass. A Sub-class, it would be a first for EQ, combines for exp ! What a novel idea! Hrm,oops. not so novel...but it could create a way to level up to 500+ trivials with custom titles and newer trophies and more Sub-class only recipes...maybe a real charm that doesn't need 2 aug slots to be competitive(not lame). And while your at it up the drop rates for old content ...

Note1: take into account rapidly declining population and lack of groups and that people would rather box their own groups just to keep all the farming items for themselves.

What are you talking about - Cultural Armor is being completely revamped for this expansion. While I agree that Poison Making went way too far and all the drops ofr it are annoying as hell, I wouldn't call it the dominant tradeskill because no one can use it but rogues and it doesnt help anyone but rogues.

Yeah you pointed that out in my rant. Thanks for correcting me again.

I still don't see Poison making as the dominat tradeskill, as was the OP supposition. PM got some love. Overdone, but needed, but not the ned all be all of tradeskilling either.

dominant can be taken several ways, i.e. poison are the current HOT TS to do/have for what sells in baz fast, potions might last a while in inventory because every dam boxing bozo is macroing tons for their bazaar bots. after taking note of whats for sale and then going out to make potion to put up for sale by the time i get done making even 100 of any potion to sell the bazaar is flooded again so they sit in inventory ... i wish i had 24/7 to sit in baz to sell potions.. i hate that I cant compete with someone who can afford to pay for a baz bot, so let me tell you all about another MMO I been playing...

            random thoughts by Jack Daniels

Wouldn't it be nice to trade between servers once a day/week? I been toying with this idea...an auction npc with no need for "bozo bazaar bots"(c) with retarded insipid names that the GMs do not police anymore unless reported...
Limit items to made by a TS and used for TS only.. Fine silk sold by the stack to another server...

why not make a LoN card drop that give you a bag of gold in a LoN card drop redeemable for 100kpp or more?

Beer-battered Timeless Hunter Sausage Pie and Sealed Translucent Energeian Elemental/Light Orbs sell nicely. People charge insane prices for them in the Bazaar. When I sell mine for cost plus a reasonable profit they vanish from inventory. If it wern't for those items I couldn't afford to pay my mercs.

The trick I've learned is to sell them at reasonable rates. I can sell 100 Orbs in a day at 100pp profit each. Or I can have 100 Orbs sit in inventory for a week or more if I ask 1000pp profit each.

I'm with Stewwy, the poison tradeskill is still pretty horrible thanks to the nerf if your not a Rogue. Rogue's have something to rejoice about but their market is very narrow now (to sell), if it isn't a level 85 poison, its basically worthless. I've seen a few level 80 poisons sell but generally speaking they take weeks to sell where the level 85 poisons sell about as fast as the bazaar bots can mark them up for reselling.

The number one tradeskill still is Alchemy and probally always will be because the potions in demand will remain that way and can all be store purchased.

I know there are a couple other potions people buy in high quantities but can't think of them atm

                      Poisonmaking....
All mob dropped (That non-rogue's can use at 85)
What is all the fuss about? So I forgot to pick you up at work...I just gained a level !!! -Favorite last words as I sleep on the couch

I do agree to a point. I make FAR more from my alchemy skill, than I do my poisonmaking. on our server though, we are lucky enough that levels 13-15 all sell fairly quickly for the poisons... and demand far outweighs supply. there are maybe 3 of us who sell the poisons and we cannot keep any of it in stock. I have taken to writing down the names of people who purchase poisons from me, and an slowly sending them an e-mail ingame thanking them for their purchase, and reminding them of the need for the gormar/nigriventer venoms. I dont want to get tagged for spam though, so I only send a couple a day.

On antonius strangely i sold a lot of sk spells/book recently.... I made them to increase research skill and put them on my vendor (who is up to sell chrono) and strangely a lot have been bought ....
Before stat food was sold easily, i went throgh my whole stock of misty/kaladim which was filling the bank of 3+ bot in a few days.... (ya training reseach is really expensive even for a TS)
