    Let me rephrase that.

There is a part of the discovery of new recipes that goes with tradeskilling that I don't want to spoil for others before the expansion goes live. The stats were comparable to group weapons. I do not have any completed sets in front of me to post the stats. The last thing I heard was that group weapons as a whole were being looked at to potentially increase their power.

so do these go back to the old system of learn-by-trial recipes rather than the scribed recipes from SoF?

Good question. I'm nearly positive that the weapons are scribed recipes. I think the augments are too.

Just know that the damage/delay on the weapons will be comparable to GROUP weapons. There was talk that group weapons could get a boost for launch so I do not think anyone knows the exact stats.
If that is the case then they are crap. Thanks for letting me know. The reason why I wanted to know is because, as a monk, my DPS is all about weapons and ratios. Very little about this expansion appeals to me, but THIS was something I was interested in and have been ever since Ngreth hinted at it. Since this one little thing, that was a ray of hope for me, points to more of the same group weapon crap, then now I know there's no sense buying SoD yet. Thanks!

Regardless of the supposed nebulus ratio update, I have no incentive to buy this expansion ATM. Thanks goodness Fable II comes out the 21st.

Right, and bard mods will be fixed, and monk disciplines wil be more than worthless some day, and I'm from the govt and I'm here to help you. More empty words. Actions > all.

Developers aren't to blame. It's SOE managements fault for understaffing their developers.

*comfort Ngreth* My venom isn't toward you. You're doing the best you can with the time you have.

I appreciate why the recipes and such are not being posted pre-release even tho my curiosity is itching to get a hold of them! If the new weapon recipes are available in a book, can you say where that book will be for sale? Also, are there going to be lvl 85 type 11 augs? If so, are the patterns quested similar to exalted/sublime augs?

The weapons were learned by scribing a recipe book. The naming system does follow the cultural armor: Simple, Ornate, Intricate, Elaborate, Inured(Exalted symbol level), Elegant, Stalwart(new level 85). I did not get a chance to test the symbols myself but only know a few details that have been shared here and saw a few links of finished weapons passed around while in beta.

The explanation of what to do was sold on merchants in PoK as well.

Smithing, Tailoring, Pottery, Brewing I can confirm had in game books to explain the new combines. In beta they were all in PoK for ease of convience, but I assume that is where they will be on live.

So check your local tradeskill merchants in PoK when the expansion goes live.

All the information on making the weapons were in the 5 fine weapon making books, which were on the smithing vendor. That included information for all parts of the weapons, no matter the skill used to make them.

Really? I never checked them. Just assumed they were on the smithing merchants and went there.

The ones at the forge near the main bank in PoK is where I found them.

As a druid I ended up at the tailoring merchant first. They had all 5 cause the books explain both the tailored and smithed weapons, the pottery crafted molds, and the jewelrycrafted symbols.

For an idea what the weapons are like I know the Knight sword damage delay was Very close to that of morguecaller. (with more HP of course)

                              Symbol Alone:
Base damage 16, Chromatic Damage 1
                              HP 245, Mana 245, Endurance 245
                              AC 9
Symbol adds + 10 to every stat.

Effect is Quellious'Calm VII: Causes your target to become calm, reducing the hate towards you.

There's 21 to all saves, 10 of which comes from the symbol

Has a bunch of mods on it as well. Also has type 4 augment slot free.

Stalwart Leather Whip (1HS) with Sublime Nimble Symble of Storms.

                              Whip + Symbol:
                              Base damage 35, Delay 24.
                              HP 455, Mana 445, Endurance 445
                              AC 23
                              STR: 17, STA 19, INT 9, WIS 15, AGI 20, DEX 20, CHA 17

                              Symbol Alone:

                              AC 7
Symbol adds + 10 to every stat.

Effect is Karana Strike VI: Strikes your opponent with a cold attack that does between 100 and 100 hit points of damage.

Saves aren't all the same; 16 fire, 24 cold and the rest 20 (corruption not included of course.) Symbol adds 5 fire, 13 cold, 9 for rest.

Also Has a bunch of mods on it. Again, type 4 augment slot free.

They are supposed to relook at group weapon ratios. Not sure if they did that yet. I don't believe so though. These are considered "group" weapons, so they could change as well.

Heh. Human plate armor is called "Stalwart" (as in Elaborate Stalwart Greaves). I guess it's a good thing they didn't make a new set of armor, or we'd be faced with Stalwart Stalwart armor! =)
