yet another "me 2" reply
Got it today, ignored it too. Replying to show when the last time I posted was - I'm a daily user of the Recipes section of the site, but I rarely post, so whoever suggested that the target of the emails were older, more inactive users may have something there...

Pie please!
I received the email as well. I've been in EQ2 for the last few years, and I was pretty sure Denmum hadn't sent that, so I just kept checking back in here figuring we'd see an update.
In case it helps, here are the full headers:

changing passwords
sucky, hate people messing with sites
evil evil.
in response to changing all your passwords though... i assume the forum software doesn't store passwords in plain text, and so anyone with access shouldnt be able to reverse the hash? can you guys confirm?
hope it's all fixed now!

They don't have direct access to your password, but what they do is take a really long list of common passwords and encode each one in the same way your actual password is saved, then they compare each encoded word to your password. If they find a match, then they have your password. This is called a dictionary attack, because the first versions of it literally used a dictionary in the hope of catching people who used simple words as their password.Sir KyrosKrane Sylvanblade
