  • How easy is it to create a brand new Tradeskill?

For example, is it possible to create a new Tradeskill called Artisan Tailor.

This new Tradeskill would be available through a quest only.

Requirements for the quest include being a 300 Tailor with a 15% Trophy and Mastery 3.

Once you have the new Artisan Tailor, you being over at level 1 with brand new recipes that only Artisan Tailors can make. This doesn't solve any of the weirdness inherent in the old system of 463 level Trivials and the checks on mastery, but it does remove them from the equation for quite some considerable time as an issue......if creating a new Tradeskill is as easy as "copy / paste code" from the old.

It is code... then LOTS of design to make the recipes. Probably 3-4 weeks for the recipes... and unknown amount of code time.

      • Maxed Trophy AA

Once you max out your Tradeskill trophy have a Purchaseable AA that will take the trophy and make it part of you (skill mod/stats alway's active) you can make a hotbutton to make the tradeskill bag from this aa, and require 3/3 tradeskill AA's to get it, have it eat your maxed tradeskill trophy and make it an AA.

Veteran Alchemist AA (or Mundungu Medicine Mastery)
        Veteran Jewel Crafter AA
        Veteran Potter AA

ETC. this will eliminate having to have a trophy in an inventory slot that are priceless as it is.

        • Transcendent Trade Skill Mastery

Once I have maxed Baking skill and maxed trophy, I can spend 5 AAs and become a master chef in real life. I should be able to do all recipes, not just those written for EverQuest.

I figure with expertise in baking (Julia Child!), brewing (Budweiser!), blacksmithing (umm, US Steel?), tailoring (Versace!), fletching (Err, Robin Hood movies?), jewelry crafting (Tiffany's!), and pottery (well maybe not pottery), I should be able to remaing gainfully employed even in a tough economy.

I realize this would require major coding changes, but I'm a patient ranger.

            • Baking/Brewing: Taste While You Cook/Brew -- increases innate metabolism further by a small margin based on your baking/brewing skill since you always have to taste what it is that you are making.

Supply Relations Purified / Distilled / Clear / etc. -- would summon 20 vials of the corresponding mana vials and consume the reagents (once a day timer?). After years of dealing with the trade your relations with a supplier has led to constant shipment of vials.

                    • I made it to about page 3 before my eyes started hurting, so forgive me if this idea has already been posted. Also really tired so the wording is probably off, but wanted to put it in before I fell asleep.

                      Subcombine Mastery
                      level 51 required
3 ranks per tradeskill, cost cheap, thinking 1 aa each, so peps under level 60 can reasonably get them. Still would be a total of 21 aa for all 7 base skills.

As you gain skill in a tradeskill, you unlock the next rank. Each rank allows you to have a no fail chance on trivial items.

                      Example

Rank 1 - requires 200 in a specific skill, no fail chance on items with a difficulty of 75 and lower.

Rank 2 - requires 250 in a specific skill, no fail chance on items with a difficulty of 125 and lower.

Rank 3 - requires 300 in a specific skill, no fail chance on items with a difficulty of 200 and lower.

My biggest pet peeve in EQ tradeskills has always been failing on some trivial subcombine, thus requiring another trip to a merchant, wasting more time, and generally small amounts of gold (not plat). And tons more fried brain cells.

                      • The Gods Guarantee - the next combine will be 100% assured ...or... its failure will be Fully salvaged. This would work like the current MGB (mass group buff). The refresh rate on TGG could be extensive, 24 hours plus, or just bothersome at just a couple hours.

Would be saved for that one combine that just Had to be successful.

Would be a nice complement to the Master Artisan ...or... make it available to all skillers.

Could require a component; say an Idol of the Tradeskill Gods that also had to be crafted but was tradeable.

Set a Hotkey, press the hotkey, the Next skill attempted would be assured or All components returned, no matter what tradeskill, no matter what level.

TGG could have tiers that would Reduce the recast time.

Yeah but that's where all the SKILL is in tradeskills right? In the generation of Carpal Tunnel in your hands?

Once again, they will never give us a guaranteed success on any combine under any circumstance. Folks would simply wait until the conditions were set to make every high cost combine. Honestly, I wouldn't want that either.

A version of this is actually in the game already. Items with trivial equal to your skill (above skill 60 or 70, I forget) will always be at the minimum chance to fail (5%). However, as your skill goes up over the item's trivial, that chance is reduced by 1% for every 40 points. So, an item with a trivial 80 points below your skill has a 3% chance to fail, and one that's 120 points below your skill as a 2% chance. Items that trivial 200 points below your skill level are no-fail.

Any chance of getting GREY added as a con colour for no-fail combines ?

oh, just had another off the wall idea,
                                New item:
A Crate of Gnomish Heat Sources (Stacks to 25)
Click effect: Unpack crate (20 charges) creates a stack (25) of gnomish heat sources.

I have no idea how many thousand of these GHSs I have purchased but I am surprised PoK has not spontaneously combusted.
