    Electrum Jewelry: Required lv 1, Recommended lv 20
    Gold Jewelry: Required lv 20, Recommended lv 35
    Platinum Jewelry: Required lv 35, Recommended lv 50
    (I wanted to keep these 4 in the lv 1-50 range as they were part of the original game)

    Dwerium Jewelry: Required lv 70, Recommended lv 80 (Dwerium was originally introduced at Secrets of Feydwar Expansion which has a lv 80 cap at this time)

    With these recommended / Required levels , a Trio Setting (with just 2 gems)with Round cut Opal (100HP) / Crimson Nihilite (10AC, 375HP) (note I only used HP, and not AC in the stat summary to keep things simple)

    Opal = 12hp
    Crimson Nihilite = 45hp
    TOTAL = 57hp

    Electrum Jewelry(Rec lv 20)
    @lv1 Opal = 1hp
    @lv1 Nihilite = 3.75hp
    TOTAL = 4.75hp
    @lv20 Opal= 20hp
    @lv20 Nihilite = 75hp
    TOTAL = 95hp

    Gold Jewelry(Required 20, Recommended 40)
    @lv20 Opal = 12.5hp
    @lv20 Nihilite = 52.5hp
    TOTAL = 65hp
    @lv40 Opal= 25hp
    @lv40 Nihilite = 105hp
    TOTAL = 130hp

    Platinum Jewelry(Required 40/Recommended 50)
    @lv40 Opal=32hp
    @lv40 Nihilite = 120hp
    TOTAL=152hp
    @lv50 Opal=40hp
    @lv50 Nihilite = 150hp
    TOTAL=190hp

    Velium Jewelry (Required 50 / Recommended 60)
    @lv50 Opal = 46.67hp
    @lv50 Nihilite = 175hp
    TOTAL=221.67hp
    @lv60 Opal=56hp
    @lv60 Nihilite=210hp

    TOTAL=309.43hp
    @lv70 Opal=76hp
    @lv70 Nihilite=285hp
    TOTAL=361hp

    Dwerium Jewelry(required lv 70/Recommended lv 80)
    @lv 70 Opal =87.5hp
    @lv 70 Nihilite = 328.13hp
    TOTAL=415.63hp
    @lv 80 Opal = 100hp
    @lv 80 Nihilite = 375hp
    TOTAL = 475hp

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Because the jewelry settings are still TRADEABLE once the gems augments have been removed, this would allow folks to Sell or trade out the jewelry that they do not want for lower end versions.

    Players could still keep and use the Gems which are still no drop.

    This would create a market for the lower versions of the jewelry settings

    This would make all jewelry usable and desirable.

    This would reduce the “power leveling” aspect of some gems that players have complained about (ie dmg shield / regeneration )

    I agree. Seems to be more 'balanced' to me. There is nothing for below 40 that is even close to comparable to items available before the jewelry revamp. I like Ngreth's plan of no required levels, but the implementation of the recommended was a bit steep. There should be something for level 1-20 that provides more than 1 hp.

      It is something we are at least considering

      We are not likely to put in required level, as the new scripted one simulates it, and the way it simulates it we may be lower recommended. (please note the may, we are still considering things)

        I've held off commenting before, but I would like to point out, briefly, that the old velium stuff had no level limits, so we had the +6 stats and the 65 Hp/Mana/End stuff, and that wasn't game breaking. So that should be the minimum available to level 1s.

        Was the old palladium level limited?

        Maybe have a restriction to single or duos that don't get limited. Or, maybe even trios, without the "good stat" type 11, high-level gems, but could include the effects types (faerune, etc.)

        Prexus: Stasis
        2400 / 102 (Including Poisonmaking) 15% Jewelcraft, Tailoring (so far)

        Thanks Tamaelia Dolath

          Another advantage to lowering the rec level is that putting a rec level gem on a lowbie item reduces the stats of the other cut gems on that jewlery, meaning that the piece is potentially better without any type 11 gem on it than one of the rec level gems.

          For example,
          before the rec level gems my dwerium pieces.....

          Round cut onyx = 12dex
          round cut carnelian =12 str
          Half Moon Cut Harmonagate = 19str 19dex plus other stats...

          after

          round cut onyx = 9 dex
          round cut carnelian = 9 str
          Half Moon Cut Harmonagate = 1 str 1 dex plus a few hp etc. and sv.

          The reduction of the Harmonagate I've been fine with, not happy, but whatever, it's just a game... It does burn that a triv cut of under 150 skill or so is now worse with the harmonagate in place no matter what metal.

          This is all due to the rec level transfering to the augmented item. <shrug>

          Keep up the good work big N. but please look hard at something to alieviate this.

          Thanks.
          I call for the elimination of EQ levels 1-50.

            Recommended Level only

            vs.

            Recommended Level AND Required Level

            Assuming Recommended level 80 on Dwerium Jewelry
            Dwerium w/ Crimson Nihilite = 4.69hp / level

            @lv 10 = 46hp (no problems)
            @lv 20= 93hp (problems start, starting to exceed previous versions of jewelry)
            @lv 35= 164hp (now we are into some serious balance issues)
            @lv 50= 234hp
            @lv 60= 281hp
            @lv 65= 304hp
            @lv 70= 328hp
            @lv 80= 375hp

            For the other Metal types to be useful, they must at least EQUAL or EXCEED the 4.69hp / level:

            Silver would have minimum of a Recommended level 10 (4.5hp / level)
            Electrum would have minimum of a Recommended level 16 (4.69hp / level)
            Gold would have minimum Recommended level 23 (4.57hp / level)
            Platinum would have a minimum Recommended level 32 (4.69hp / level)
            Velium would have a minimum Recommended level 45 (4.67hp/ level)
            Palladium would have a minimum Recommended level 61 (4.67hp / level)
            Dwerium would have a minimum Recommended level of 80 (4.69hp / level)

            NOTE: this is only taking into account ONE gem on a trio jewelry setting

            See my previous posts regarding suggested minimum recommended level / required level for the various metals,

            to maintain some basis of game balance AND to make all jewelry USEFUL (just as all the tailored / blacksmith items are useful at various levels) there must be a recommended level AND a required level

            Also, by putting into place the original format used for scaling of stats for recommended levels this will allow for the removal of that horribly useless “scripting” program that was put into place.

            (I did spread sheet for both recommended lv 70 and recommended lv 80 on the Dwerium jewelry, but this BRIEF post should show the obvious reasons why recommended / required levels should be in place)

            I stand by the mathematics of my previous statement:

            Recommendation:
            Silver Jewelry : Required lv 1, Recommended level 1
            Electrum Jewelry: Required lv 1, Recommended lv 20
            Gold Jewelry: Required lv 20, Recommended lv 35
            Platinum Jewelry: Required lv 35, Recommended lv 50
            (I wanted to keep these 4 in the lv 1-50 range as they were part of the original game)

            Velium Jewelry: Required lv 50, Recommended lv 60 (Velium was originally introduced at Scars of Velious Expansion which had a lv 60 cap at that time)

            Palladium Jewelry: Required lv 60, Recommended lv 70 (Palladium was originally introduced at Dragons of Norrathe Expansion which had a lv 70 cap at that time)

            Dwerium Jewelry: Required lv 70, Recommended lv 80 (Dwerium was originally introduced at Secrets of Feydwar Expansion which has a lv 80 cap at this time)
