  • Ngreth - Above and Beyond the Call of Duty

Big HUGS to Ngreth! What he does for the tradeskill community is way above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you, Ngreth, from the bottom of my heart on behalf of all tradeskillers.

I've spent a lot of time recently both here and on the SoE board reading posts about the cultural changes. While I have seen a very few heartfelt thank-you's, I see a lot more whining and complaining from folks about this that and the other thing being "too hard" or "not fair" as well as requests or demands for something they personally want changed. This disturbs me.

Please give da Ogre a break! He's worked long and hard both on these changes and tradeskill changes in the upcoming SoF expansion. There were oversights in vendor lists, coding mixups, and other things related to the present cultural changes that he's working very hard to correct for us so that it all goes smoothly. And he's been beating himself over the head for each and every problem, even those that were beyond his control.

Meanwhile, he even takes the time to read and respond to all sorts of questions and suggestions both here and on the SoE board (something not many devs bother to do).

I would imagine the stresses are enormous. We value Ngreth. He's done more for tradeskilling (as have Niami and EQ Traders as a whole and the volunteer staff here) than many reading this could imagine. We don't want to lose him from overwork caused by imaginary problems at this time when he has so much else to do.

When the dust settles (probably not until after SoF releases) there will be plenty of time to suggest future changes or your pet projects. For now, notes on necessary items missing from vendors or real problems encountered in recipes are surely enough.

Again, thank you Ngreth for all you have done and are doing.

Thanks for taking the time to post this. There have been a number of times lately where I have wanted to comment in the threads but have held back, knowing there are people on the board to do it.

It is clearly written in the rules to not address any of the devs directly, but it still happens, and very frequently of late.

Also, the tone of many posters lately come across much more harsh than is warranted. If you want to get things changed, address the issues, don’t attack our allies.

So I join in with saying, please, treat our resources with value and respect. These are people that care enough to step over into our little world on their own time to help out. Any abuse against them is abuse to the entire community and is unacceptable.

        /cheer our hard working friends.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

As always, much (purely platonic, Niami!!! ) for Ngreth.

I agree. Thumbs up. I almost feel like I am cheating with this new tailoring path.

                        Thank you Ngreth.

The changes to tailoring and smithing changed my life, and it's way more enjoyable to skill up on those 2 tedious skills now.

Wait. Isn't addressing a post directly to Ngreth against forum rules?

All seriousness aside. Ngreth does a great job. We're very fortunate he's on the team and in charge of tradeskills!

Now, now! It wasn't addressed to Ngreth! Those hugs and thank you's were just thrown in on the off chance da Ogre might catch a glimpse browsing past.
