Thank you. Not just for the work, but for the sheer friendliness and pleasant way you make yourself accessible and available to the community.

I was so impressed with how you handled the cultural changes. It would have been easy to just make a formal announcement and let every one figure out on their own how to cope. You monitored threads, answered questions and showed you cared about the people affected by the changes.

The way you treat people is remarkable service well above and beyond your job requirements.

Joining in the chorus. Ngreth is clearly the best thing to happen to tradeskills in a long time. What I particularly appreciate is his willingness to communicate - both to tell us what is happening and to listen to and consider feedback about it.

I think the tradeskill community has been clear about how much we treasure Ngreth's efforts.

And I think repeating our praises too often or too effusively might be a bad thing given that the sight of an embarrased ogre is bound to be a bit disturbing.

On the other hand, the original poster is correct that the recent and upcoming tradeskill changes have generated a lot of complaints, so this is a good time make our support clear.

No other developer has been as consistently involved with the EQ community he represents or as consistently responsive with changes or explanations to community concerns and requests.

Further, however much short term disruption and sometimes even losses have been caused by past changes, the long term results have been a consistent move to a more rational and rewarding tradeskill system. And the upcoming changes are a necessary and welcome part of that ongoing process.

So once again, thank you Ngreth.

            Well Said!!!!!

I've spent a lot of time recently both here and on the SoE board reading posts about the cultural changes. While I have seen a very few heartfelt thank-you's, I see a lot more whining and complaining from folks about this that and the other thing being "too hard" or "not fair" as well as requests or demands for something they personally want changed. This disturbs me.

Please give da Ogre a break! He's worked long and hard both on these changes and tradeskill changes in the upcoming SoF expansion. There were oversights in vendor lists, coding mixups, and other things related to the present cultural changes that he's working very hard to correct for us so that it all goes smoothly. And he's been beating himself over the head for each and every problem, even those that were beyond his control.

Meanwhile, he even takes the time to read and respond to all sorts of questions and suggestions both here and on the SoE board (something not many devs bother to do).

I would imagine the stresses are enormous. We value Ngreth. He's done more for tradeskilling (as have Niami and EQ Traders as a whole and the volunteer staff here) than many reading this could imagine. We don't want to lose him from overwork caused by imaginary problems at this time when he has so much else to do.

When the dust settles (probably not until after SoF releases) there will be plenty of time to suggest future changes or your pet projects. For now, notes on necessary items missing from vendors or real problems encountered in recipes are surely enough.

Again, thank you Ngreth for all you have done and are doing.

            Very Well said.....

Ngreth, Thank you bunchs, and don't worry about the whiners, they whine anyway picking and choosing what make them feel best... considering how big this game is and the enormus coding it takes you all do awsome

I love all the new changes revamps, it all makes the game better and stronger and up to date!!

Answering practically every post made everywhere is FAR beyond the standard for an SoE employee. Many of them seem to get by completely ignoring the input from their community, Ngreth is special.

Thank you for all your hard work Ngreth.

You stand out among the EQ dev team for really caring, for LISTENING to your audience here, for communicating effectively and for coming up with solutions that are both creative and fun.

I just wish others could meet your standard. I am an enchanter and the enjoyment in playing my class has declined steadily for the last 4 years. Looking forward to SoF, I am seriously contemplating simply stopping with grouping and raiding because of issues with class balance and utility. My main point in continuing to play is to keep in touch with my friends so I may just devote myself to tradeskills full time. Those are good!

I agree 110%. I love the changes myself. And, added bonus, I am trying to do my part with the awful Tunare Economy. Since componants are easier to get, I dropped all my prices greatly. Some others have followed suit but not many.

                      Either way, great work ogre
