I've been doing my tailoring off the new stuff and my level is at 164. I still don't see the books for the next level and I only have a couple more points to go that I can skill up on. At what point will the next books be seen?

Not sure, but you will be able to see them soon. I was at that point, and am currently up to 176, so I was able to see the books for the next batch that will take me up to 200

I believe the next books become visible at 175 skill.

Definately before 175, I think maybe 170. I dinged 175 using Natural Silk which is the silk for this set of books

Natural silk is two tiers below Fine silk, which is used for Intricate. The order is:

            Crude
Natural (you can see the book at 150)
Pristine (you can see the book at 175)
            Fine (used for Intricate armor)

At least, those were the numbers reported in another thread. If his skill was 164, he's probably working with either Crude or Natural silk.

KK, at 174 I still can't see new books. I looked up the crude silk combines on this site, and it shows a crude silk robe at 175, but as I recall, there wasn't anything over 170 listed under "crude silk" search in my container. Is it possible there is a reason it didn't show up, am I mistaken or what. I had to do some silk filter combines and a "experimented" next tier combine to get to 174...

Are you looking for the crude silk robe in a container that has 10 slots (Loom, Tanaan Loom, or Deluxe Sewing Kit)? Containers with only 8 slots will not show any silk combines that require 6 silks (cloaks, pants, tunics, robes) because they don't have enough slots.

I've found from past experiences that the tighter your plan, the more likely you are to run into something unpredictable.

so how does a froglok smith with a skill of around 66 get to do the simple armor combines? I bought the book in POK but the simple recipes dont show up in a search at a forge. The tier one symbol recipes show up, but no simples. Do I have to do the tradeskill quests in Guktu in order to make simple cultural armor?

Ive been combing this site for 2 hours and am more confused than when i started. It seems i dont have to do quests to get cultural recipes, yet there is no cultural forge in Guktu that i can find, that would have the simple recipes. Please help.

Um, yep. That is it. Shame on me, I think I even read that somewhere before... thanks!

I bought and scribed the 'simple' armor book in POK. As well as the symbol book. The symbol recipes showed up, but when i put 'simple' in the search function at a forge, nothing came up.

The simple armor can only be made in your cultural forge.
