That does surprise me, I have to say. Especially after looking at the trivs on the new combines, I was convinced we'd be seeing 350 skill caps in November.

I understand it's not a final answer, but it's a question I didn't even expect Ngreth to address... once again the Ogre's awesomeness surprises me. We're lucky to have you Ngreth

Yah, but no one has ever missed a gnome... I mean when have you ever seen a gnomes picture on the back of a milk carton?

I can't confirm absolutely everything, as i'm a woodelf and have no Silk cultural, but Everything else matches up with my cultural sewing kit, so I assume the rest is right as well.

This can help keep track of what ingredients goes with what trivials.
Drakkin silk tunics trivial out at 386. 11 points higher than what you have on your chart. I'd have to be on my lil tailor to verify the other levels but I know that one is the highest I remember because I was amazed I made one with that triv.

That. But still it is an SoF thing, not DoN thing. AND the quest for the 80 is in SoF. Plus I don't have stats on it yet

              • Ive been trying to read over this thread, but maybe im missing something. Is it going to be possible for any race to make another races Cultural armor?

                Comment

                • Drauis, no. You can still only make the armor for your own race.

However, the templates are the same across all races. So you can make templates for another player of a different race, or you can buy the templates yourself from other players.

The trivials I have listed are for the TEMPLATES only, the Cultural gear are in a different range of trivials.

For reference, here's what my sewing kit lists for the Leather cultural at least.

                    Simple - 84-115
                    Ornate - 155-186
                    Intricate - 275-306
                    Elaborate - 355-386

The skillup stuff is really not rare. Really. Additionally, the stuff that gets you to 300, is not that high level. Sure a level 1 is not going to be hunting it, but it will be easy kills. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I think it will be grey... maybe light blue to max level players. Easy kills at least.
Sadly Ngreth, they are not the ones assuming. Go to the Bazaar sometime. Rareity has NOTHING to do with the prices charged. How much the traders can rip people off for is the only thing that matters. And there is ALWAYS someone who has Fort Knox in their EQ bank and plat means nothing. As has been said before. The only thing that matters in the Bazaar is how long the trader is willing to wait.

You need to tell "on high" that there will never be a legitimate player market, the prices will be about 20-100x as high as they should be and as a result of this a lot of TSers will not have 2 legitimate options, their only choice will be to farm it. Just look back at what prices people had Shissar Scales going for on the different servers, and realize that you've said that the drop rate is LESS than what Shissar Scales had, so the Bazaar costs of the new components will be even worse.

                      • Saltpeter was also subject to such silly pricing before Ngreth added the pre-made acids, albeit at a premium, to the Research merchants. The new drops will be harder to monopolize, but I've no doubt that someone will make the effort.

                            • To answer the last question, the old recipes have already been cleaned out from the database. The new recipes will be entered as people report them in the Database Submissions forum. It may take us a couple of days to catch up, but we're doing our best.

Indeed. Tradeskilling is slowly changing from an activity for the middle-class to an activity exclusive to the uber-rich. I personally would kill to get these items to have at least some value to NPC vendors. I refuse to throw money into the black hole that the bazaar has become - the economy is trashed. I don't mind that the economy is trashed, but now that you've made the items I'm needing impossible to find on vendors, the only way I can continue opting out is by either giving up on doing any useful tradeskilling, or slogging away for ages on main characters, farming grey cons so my low level tradeskillers can get supplies. All the while other tradeskill drops that could be getting utilized are rotting on mob corpses across the world as people don't bother to loot them.

And from an in-character perspective... you're telling my that merchant over there will cough up the cash for a pile of owlbear dung, but not blocks of exotic and useful metallic ores? Please.
