In my case maxing the hovering contraption was free. I was buying the sunshard ore for tailoring skill ups, leveling the tinkering trophy was a happy side effect.

dupe still in game?
Someone on Drinal was trying to sell 9 AAAA last night at one tenth the going rate on Drinal. Is the dupe still in the game or was the person getting rid of stuff they had duped and stored on an alt?Kekenewah Silverfire: 82 High Elf Wizard: Drinal Server salvage 3

2 hours in acrylia caverns and an hour in front of a couple vendors gets you from 1 to like 215 tinkering for a couple thousand plat. Then you have a lot of ways you can go (I don't suggest farming PoI though, just a tad slow =P). Sunshard pebbles get you to 255 or so, then *two* combines at 290+ from one sunshard ore that you can then put towards a smithing/tailoring skillup?
That isn't bad at all.
How many sunshard ores have you used and how did you acquire them? I am not sure about your server but on mine you very seldom find more that a dozen of them in the bazaar for around 800p (if you are extremely lucky) to 1200p. You almost never find them on any vendors. I have no idea what people are doing with them (using them themselves or letting them rot) but there doesn't appear to be a large enough supply (on my server, anyway) to supply one tradeskiller let alone all of them. Have you been farming these things? So far, I haven't found nor gotten any reports of any place that the drop rate could really qualify as farming.
btw, my tinker got to 300 without sunshard (it didn't exist when he dinged 300).Last edited by gggrant; 08-17-2007, 05:56 PM.

When I did sunshard, I was buying a stack or 2 a day in buyer mode for 500pp each. It took me less than 2 weeks of that to get the 500 or so ore to finish tailoring. Sometime after I finished, someone tried to corner the market and run the price up to 1.5k. He failed. There is a steady flow of ore into the bazaar, and most traders undercut him. I personally sold 3 stacks to him in trader for 900-1k each. Currently he has 200 ore at 800pp each and there are another 3-4 dozen available in the range of 650-1k.
So while it may appear that there isn't much ore available, I suspect there are just lots of buyers.

Back to a topic (and touched upon earlier in this thread) related to the original post:
Servers have been up for five days now since the last patch. All the vendors that sell refined high quality ore still have a full supply. This indicate that nobody is buying it anymore, or some new player is running around restocking them. Generally by now, all of the large bricks would be gone and some of the small bricks.
I suspect that nobody is creating new AAAA's on my server (except myself who created one for one of my alts who has a bazu stone). Yet the supply of AAAA's in the bazaar is not diminishing but increasing. My suspicion, of course, cannot be verified by me.

Sunshard Ore
There is a pretty decent amount of S.Ore hitting bazaar on CT. It's just that you can use it for every skill , so as soon as it goes up it gets bought. (or as soon as the less conciensous ts'rs get enough plat)
Always buyers for Sunshard Ore on CT at any time of the day. There are a couple guys who hoard it till they get a few hundred then slap it in /trade mode.
If you are wanting to snag Sunshard Ore (at least on CT) you have to watch for it constantly , it's usually not up for very long.
If you really want to get it , set up a buyer and just beat every price, advertising regularly that your buying it, I got several hundred this way. (and several hundred more buying it for way too much)
As far as HQR Ore , I don't know anyone who doesnt replenish then immediately buy it ... that sounds fishy to me that all vendors are full up. Maybe theres a glitch with the source?

The dup'ed AAAA boxes on CT are quite obviously still around. All of the people I reported as "suspicious" are still trading. Box prices are dropping below cost, Gnome bolts are piling up (we had over 75 for sale on the weekend for prices as low as 6k).
Assuming that none of the dupers on CT have been banned and their supplies deleted I would expect that the market for boxes will have been wrecked for some considerable time to come. I very much doubt that we have seen even the tip of the "illegal supply" iceberg yet.
I would love to see a subtle adjustment to the recipe for AAAA boxes for level 80 cultural armor augs from SOF -- call them AAAAA boxes or whatever and add a clockwork gnome bolt to the recipe or something.

I usually make 10 at a time, sell one or two to defray the cost, and give the rest to guildies in exchange for a short list of farmed items. It takes about 4 hours to make the batch, but of course there are many additional hours spent converting the steel.

I wish the scenario you describe were the case. But a more likely scenario is that nobody is making AAAA's any more. The HQ ore appears to be going unused on the vendors, the supply in the Bazaar is slowing increasing (and prices dropping) and all the people I know of that can make these things say that they haven't made any since there is no point in making any more.

Second, while this MAY be a partial solution for some servers, I can tell you it won't be for Stromm. Currently the skies are red on my server and are expected to remain red for the next nine months to a year. What that means is that there will be no market for your AAAAA's on Stromm (and I imagine a few other servers).
The really sad thing is that nothing really can be done about the spurious AAAA's without harming quite a few of the innocent.

Well you can always look at a glass half full , or the same glass half empty.
There will always be people that cheat, whatever "fix" they make , the cheaters will "bug" around it.
Everyone is responsible for thier own gameplay and how they interact with others and thier environment. I personally have made the choice to look at the glass half full (most of the time), it makes life more pleasant
Analogy:
In the United States we have an overabundance of incarcerated persons in the Justice System. One possible solution would be to "revamp" our current laws, execute all offendors, clear up populations. Put up parking lots and amuzement parks for law abiding citizens.
The only problem is, how many of those convicted persons that we just executed, were innocent? 3 out of 100 ? Which translates in to what , 90,000 innocent people out of 3million convicted?
Baby out with the bathwater? Survival of the fittest?
The moral to the story is , worry about the things in your control. Complain lightly, but go on with making a positive influence on your community.
As annoying and reprehensable as these "cheaters" are to us, we can niether prove them so, nor do anything about it.
