  • HoC Chat TIme Again

Well, it's getting close to the next HoC Chat, which is scheduled for Wednesday, June 20th.

So, who has tradeskill related questions?

As always, Ngreth is not allowed to peek.

Will we see more success caps on "the best" (tm) tradeskill recipes in the future to temper the benefit of max skill, aas, and modifier?

With the upcoming cap increase on tradeskills to 350, how will the artisan charm be affected? Would it remain at max stats when all tradeskill are at 300+, would the stats ramp be adjusted for 350 skills, or will there be new higher stats when skill goes past 300?

A question to come before Unapuma's: are TSs caps going to be raised soon? If so, approximately when?

Nolrog, I am just wondering, is there anywhere we can post or can we send a private message regarding questions that lie outside of the TS category? For e.g., are more server mergers planned for the near future?

Sorry. Last time I did that, it was a great chat, with a broad swath of topics being covered (several people commeted that it was one of the best chats they had seen in a long time.)

However, no good deed goes unpunished, and that certainly was one. Some ******** couldn't see past my name on the chat, and I was roasted like a turkey on Thanksgiving (even though I made it clear who really sent in the question and I was just typing them in for them.) Anyway, because of that, I won't be doing it again.

I really hate ashpoles like that Nolrog, you were only doing a service and you caught the brunt. Well, on to my question/s.

Since there are going to be changes in the "Containers" like the Deluxe Toolbox and others is there ever going to be containers that Gnomes can make that have Weight reduction capabilities, if so would there be "dificulty" levels( i seem to recall we were going to be getting away from "Trivial" as well) for each level so that those who are not just end game or masively plat endowed can actually make some though not maybe 100% Giant but say 20 %, 40 % and so on?

I would also like to find out if there will ever be a change in the abilities so that you can start out trades like Alchemy, Make Poison/Apply Poison and Tinkering instead of having to wait till you reach a certain level. The game has changed quite a lot for lower level players and the economy is more Wall Street than Main Street or for that matter back street. The main of these changes are that our lower level players have virtually no resource of plat like they used to, like the Aqua Goblins were changed back in the LoY days others have fallen suit so that the items we could get that sold for a plat to 5 plat now sell for a few coppers. I know these changes came from High level players who could waste whole camps of these mobs in one whack were controling them and the lower level players complained about it. I would rather have seen a level limit on the drops or some such rather than the massive and devastating reward drops, this having been said, it would be nice if the lower level player had these trade skills to allow them to make some plat in the bazaar to offset their cost of growing up in the game of today. I have recently started playing on the Progression server and we do not have access to TSS yet where there are some decent money makers for lower levels to work and it sure would help the lower levels out.

Lastly I would like to appologise for what seems like griping and complaining but I felt that I needed to bolster my argument with facts to make my questions more valid. This Game is now in it's 8th year and there are those who have been playing it since it's inception. I have played since Fall of 2000 and seen a lot come and go and people are not as nice as they used to be. Players in group no longer are willing to even share coin drops as much and answer questions about the split with "I need to buy spells and such" not taking into account that others also have to do the same and no longer do they all gather around a vender and split the money from the sale of loot rather they just say " Night all " and log off and sell later when they can pocket all the proceeds. Needless to say one has to solo just to be able to afford their necessary gear and spells. Well, I did it again and went off on a tangent that borders dangerously on the brink of Griping so I will depart and await any comments. Toodles.

In the last HoC chat it was briefly mentioned that high OOW augs (with focus above level 70) were being thought of and also pok potions higher than the X level.... Any time frame for these?

I was very excited to see these being considered and was just wondering if that might be something we could see with the November expansion.

Slightly off-track but Strokker, in the early days of EQ1 there was only 1 low leve trash drop that was worth anything like 1 plat - and that was the "cracked staff" off of decaying skeletons and possibly orc pawns -- and these drops definitely were NOT common. Things like the plague rat tails and the Butcherblock goblin drops that were worth several PP were definitely NOT part of EQ to start with. Additionally, they seem to have been removed in the run up to the launch of the Progression servers, not due to high level players "farming".
