I think I love Allizaur's (Dino's) Island in OOT. I fish and relax with an Island and entire Ocean and zone all to myself. Every so often i kill Allizaur for Nostalgic reasons and that rare Blue Diamond. Plus I do my fishing there for Gunthak Mackeral for the baits it makes.

If you want a interesting place, with some unusual sights, go to nedaria, to a guy on one of the piers. He will give you an instance, whose zone in is in nedaria. Assuming you arent kos to the slaves in the god expansion, nihil I think it is, you can go anywhere in the zone this instance takes place in. If you look around, you will find a kind of arena with two HUGE golems fighting each other. Its fun to watch while you do tradeskills.

I always do tradeskills in Kelethin if possible. The treehouses are nice and homey, and with SoE on, you can fly from the vendors to the tribute guy to the bank in no time at all.

I like Thurgadin myself, good for forages and lots of TS stuff right in the bank.

I like to do my long ts work in Forgotten Hall. I put up an AFK message stating kitty crack is free if they can come to me, 10k if I have to go to them. No one bothers me there since almost no one knows where the zone is anyway Even if they did, they'd need to be on the same task as I am to get in the same hall.

I did actually mean the teleport by fletching/alchemy vendors. Though I forgot about the faction merchants (knew they were merchants, just didn't know for spells).

The wedding I officiated up there was really beautiful. Reminded me of one of those botanical indoor garden, with places to sit, etc.

Now, favorite sites overall around Norrath:

              1) Plane of fire with graphics on (the trees being on fire is pretty)
              2) Great Divide with the water fall
              3) Twilight sea
              4) Deep deep in Skyshrine, lost amidst one of the rooms with the drakes and wurms
              5) Crystal caverns/velks (where there are lots of the crystal models) with the ice paths

I wouldn't want to do tradeskills at any of these places however due to inconvenience.

Looks like old PoM will be coming back, that will be a old/new favorite, can watch the puppet show while doing tradeskills.

I heard about that but no one seems to know for sure if the old PoM is only on the new server or if it's all servers. I missed the old PoM with its quirky storybook themed rooms.

Favourite tradeskill place? Hmmm, I'm not really sure if I have one. I pretty much do my tradeskill attempts wherever the ingredients can be found. I usually do my baking skill-up attempts in Riverdale, for example, since that is where I find quite a few merchant only purchased items that I need. The Abysmal Sea also gets frequent visits for other tradeskills, mostly for convenience.

Mind you, I've made a point to practise some of my tradeskills in Freeport, as it has served to make me familiar with the new city layout as I hunt down the merchants and tradeskill containers (as a side bonus, I love the new Freeport music and the new harbour).

If the mood strikes me, I'll do tradeskill attempts in places that a character such as mine usually cannot go. For example, I'll take my human magician (who worships Mithaniel Marr) into Cabilis, where I'm tolerated mostly anywhere thanks to thousands upon thousands of bone chips turned in to Trooper Mozo (and having chopped up lots of outcast Iksar as well). Few things are amusing as kicking back with the troopers and necromancers, and having somebody playing an iksar character run by, stop, turn and look at me, and say "What the...". It never gets old!

The current plan for the Plane of Mischief is to get the old version back, migrate any critical data from v2.0 to v1.0, and then push that out to all live servers, and leave it that way.

I might come up with some fancy way to allow people to spawn an instance of the v2.0, but that's going to be so back-burner right now that it's not even funny.

Not to turn this into a discussion about PoM... but I think that old PoM -- when it goes live to all servers -- will be a really cool place to hang out. You can do tradeskills while watching the show in the theater. When Bristlebane himself shows up in the audience you can yell at him to sit down. Or do tradeskills in the garden amidst flowers named 'a moldy sausage' or in the garden center next to Ferjeneror. (Just don't say 'no' in his presence.) The Black and White room where Lithiniath shows up is another neat place, as are the Alice in Wonderland rooms, the outer forest with its crazy trees, above the moat on an invisible bridge, anywhere in the "Upside Down Wing" where all the furniture is on the ceiling, or by the swimming pool that's laying on its side. Just be careful in the Dining Room next to Dinner (an ogre flat on his back on the dining table). There are two kos halfling wizards in the chandelier. But if the zone in remains in GD then don't expect to be able to bind in the main room like the old days.

To me a "relaxing place to tradeskill" is an oxymoron . I always end up stressed out because of the dozen trips I had to make back to the bank for stuff I forgot, the multiple trips between abysmal sea and the bazaar for that one item I forgot to get enough of, cursing out the RNG, etc...

I'd bet though, that a place with a nice look feel to it would fend off the stress a little longer than the plain wood blah of the boat in abysmal...

I agree with some other posters... #1 for me would be the oasis in Timm Deep. It looks too peaceful to not relax you a bit (and its where I got my epic so it has a little extra meaning to me ). After that.. hmm...

Kelethin - I always liked the idea of a tree city (even though the druids hate me now)
Kaladim - There's just something nice about being home (even if the cultural forge is in the zone that the bank isn't )
Crystal Caverns - where the dwarves are, I always thought that was a cool place

My ideal place to tradeskill would be an instanced zone the size of the guildhall, with all the vendors from Abysmal Sea and Corathus Creep in it, every stationary container (tanaan of course) and a zoneline to the bazaar

One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will,
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yeild.

Most relaxing / interesting for me is to take the My Vah Shir BST or High Elf Paladin into Paineel and visit the Heretics I worked so hard to get faction with. I'll run a good set of combines as I look out the observation tower's windows looking and the Hole and watching to see if anyone's coming to bother me in this normally very quiet zone. Also the alchemy shop on the second floor is nice. Sort of like a greenhouse / botanical garden. You can have alot of fun watching the undead bards jamming in one of the taverns. I've taken to refering to them as the Greatful Dead. The reflection pool outside the Warrens is nice also, but every now and then, some raid ponders through and disrupts the solitude, so I normally stay 'locked' in the city.

In going there, I guess I'm like Fox, and enjoy when the occasional noob sees a Paladin of Tunare offering to buff them in front of their Necro guildmaster! I've even once helped out a noobie with combat skill by casting a low level kitten (while on the BST) and making her "stay" in the arena so the youngling could work up combat and defensive skills.

Paineel's a nice, quiet city, with several really nice attractions.

That reminds me, Paineel's city section is one of the few old world areas I have never been in. I've got to start a new toon just so I can poke around since I hate factioning.

I always liked to take my halfling out for a day on the beach in the Field of Bone. It's a very long swim from one end of the water to the other, and there is a pretty sunrise. Skill up in swimming while you bake!
