I couldn't find an answer to this; I apologize if it's been asked before.
My DE smith had (still has actually) a skill of 115 when he got his smithing trophy quest, which is a whole lot easier than the quest for my 255 dwarf smith. What happens if I skill him up considerably before I complete the quest? i.e. what if he is a 222 smith when he does the quest turn-ins and the subsequent combine? Will the trophy evolve to his level at that point in time? Or does it somehow remember what level he was when he got the quest?
I guess the main point of asking this is - if it is true that the lower level quest is easier, and the trophy will evolve to the skill at quest completion, then it would seem like, for anyone who is not already high-level in a skill, that the thing to do would be to get your trophy quest as soon as you possibly can and then go ahead and skillup as high as you can before you complete the quest. Is this true?
Also, what is the lowest skill you can have and still receive the quest?
