Thank you Ngreth for the clear up. I want to clear a few things up though.

At 60 Shissar scales are not easy to come buy. And also, in a group I have actually obtained 10 Bazu Bloods in an hour so your comparison is wrong. For magnetic, I have to agree, but then again we are not comparing apples to apples here.

Cultural armor is not the same as OOW tradeskilled armor. I have to agree it was put there for a purpose and part of the purpose at least as far as I can see was to close that gap.

Cultural armor is not supposed to be unobtainable or overly difficult. Right now with the amount of races and symbols using shissar scales in my opinion they are where all cultural armor itself should be.

Now, know one said it all should be easy to obtain but I have to agree the drop rate on crushed diamond dust is insane and this does need corrected.

I don't mind if the drop for master's armor is changed for Vah Shir as long as we don't end up in a situation like we are now for any races. I don't want to find out that Half Elf cultural (i.e. my main whom I'm working smithing on) and froglok are now something easily obtainable but the Vah Shir armor is now something on par with great reptile tooth.

This is where my worry comes in. So far everytime I've seen a tradeskill item supposedly "fixed" they break a different one. I'm not saying Ngreth will do this but it's like the crushed diamond dust. It get's made usable by a good tradeskill item and suddenly the drop rate diminishes. Let's say Ngreth changes Vah Shir Tailored armor to something that is dropping reasonably and then another dev steps in not realizing he had done it and lowers the drop rate on it because something else needs to replace that drop to increase it.

Walla, problem again. Take the Crystalized Sulfur. I never saw it drop in Velks until after they increased the drop rate, so what drop did this replace on these mobs?

If you follow what I'm getting at here you understand why a change to something that is working worries me.

Crushed Diamond Dust did NOT change.

It is an illusion from the fact that it was never needed before.

The same was true with Crystallized Sulfur. Suddenly it was needed and the perception was we nerfed the drops.

I get this from the fact that NO treasure tables were touched. We have change logs... I was the first to touch the crystallized sulfur drop in more than a year when I added drops to them. The problem with sulfur was the huge range of placed to get it meant no real concentrated place to go find it. I would wager that if I went and looked... the tables that drop crushed diamond dust also have not been touched in a very long time.

in BOTH cases all we did was create a demand for something the before was useless. Before it was annoying to get it because it was not needed and was not worth much... so the perception was of "alot" of it.

I distinctly remember marathon sessions in Sirens where I would have only 2 or three crushed diamond dusts from long before DoN.

Now... crushed diamond dust WILL be changing but that is a different story as it will be becoming more common than it ever was.

AS for disparity between classes there will always be some. Say the target is 20 per 3 hours... we will be allowing some that are 22 or 23 to stay.... but fixing the ones less than 20 to 20... so there will continue to be slight dispariies... but the ones that are in the hundred (or the thousands) will have some sort change. NOTE!!! This is numbers just used for conversation sake. Maddoc has a particular target set of numbers that I will *NOT* be going into.

I have done checks... it is theoretically possible to get over 1000 shissar scales in an hour. In the appropriate less than level 60 range. Note the theoretically there. It means every mob in the appropriate range has to be killed the instant it spawns and it has to roll well on its random table... average tables and realistic table show of course a much slower drop rate, but still much higher drop rate than the rest. (part of the reason this is taking so long is my initial checks were not realistic, and probably what at least some of the original choices were based on... sometimes it was JUST "do mobs in this range drop this... good lets use it" and they did not check drop rates. Maddoc and I have come up with a more realistic calculation of what they drop, and I adjusted it by how many mobs can reasonably be killed in an hour of concentrated hunting)

How about the Storm Volias Hair needed for High Elf tailoring? You need two hairs to make 1 swatch. If you want to make a robe or legs, than 3 swatches, which is 6 hairs.

We had a SMALL RAID of 16 people out there one night (to get an epic 1.5 piece), clearing every single giant in the ocean area for over an hour, and got 10 hairs.

I've gone out there solo and I might get 1-2 hairs per hour, and that's as level 70 magician. So 2 hours just to get 1 combine attempt. That's 40 hours for 20 combines in hopes of a single skill up.

Hey at least you can solo them. That's better than I'm doing.

Yes I am aware of the whole bunch of things that are off... many things too rare, only a few too common.
