I think the KEI and other similar finds were originally sold by accident. The seller either didn't realize the mistake and when discovered had forgotten which merchant it was on, or didn't know that you could mine the merchant to get it back.

I love patch day and the couple of days afterwards; I have my usual series of haunts that reliably turn up good stuff.

      Recent finds:

Healthy amounts of LQ/MQ/HQ pelts and spider(ling) silk
A few iron oxide, 2gp each
      Numerous HQ bear/rockhopper, 2-3gp each
      1 HQ lion skin, 3gp
2 hand made backpacks, ~1pp each
      Shissar scaled headband, 7pp
3 haze panther eyes, ~6pp each
      Chipped bone bracelet, 18pp
      Ravenscale leggings, ~25pp
      Shiny brass idol, 31pp
Finespun cloth sleeves, a handful of plat
A full stack of enchanted silver bars /shrug
Spell: Arch Lich, a handful of plat

Of course, I also see plenty of good gear going for prices that don't quite make sense anymore but would have once been phenomenal: Spirit Tome 160pp, that kind of thing.

The thing that made my newbie ranger quite happy was to find Call of Flame (level 55 quested Ranger-only spell) on a vendor for a whopping 7 plat.

I think I was bouncing around about it in guildchat for two straight days.

              Spells and stuff

I was inspired to do a bit of dumpster diving myself and came up with the following:

              54 chunks? of condensed shadow
2 copies of Heroic Call (lvl 54 Cleric spell)
1 copy of Theft of Thought
              1 HQ Bear pelt
              11 Thick Grizzly Skins
              16 LQ Pear Pelts
              9 MQ Bear Pelts
Beer Stained Coldain Tunic (Wonder if froggies will be able to wear it)
              Tons of Bone Chips
Stacks of Meat (Lion, Bear, Mammoth, Wolf) - Baking Skill now at 147
              8 Undead Froglok Tongues

I just wish I knew more about the game to recognize the really cool stuff from the junk. I may have paid more than I should have for a few things but overall I think I will come out ahead in the end.

                Vender mining..

The KEI spell and other things were the only things on the merchant.
I think the person knew what they were doing when they sold it.

I didn't think the level 49/50 (49 to scribe, 50 to quest) spell Call of Flame was droppable.

The level 55 Call of Fire spell is droppable and drops of NPCs (PoG, as well as other zones). It may even be a vendor spell now in the PoK library.

I don't mean to try and burst your bubble, I am just curious if the quested 49/50 spell Call of Flame could be bought. If it is droppable, I might start looking for it in the bazaar. A few kpp would be worth not having to camp the butler and maid for days trying to get those fangs

I found 3 level 62 bard songs on a vendor,
2 stacks of crystaline silk swatches,
                    14 Nightmare Aracnid silks,
                    2 Nightmarewood sap,
                    1 level 61 Cleric spell,
3 Blue Diamonds (In Neriak where I am ally with the vendors),
                    Deluxe Sewing Kit.
Come on guys, one more pull. What is the worst that could happen?

Vendor mining has become an important tradeskill in my opinon... been able to upgrade my equipment much quicker than the smithing / tailoring route (although I have also made enough money to pursue those vocations as well).

Found stacks of silks and quality pelts
all the words, runes and pages I will need for a while
lots of different baking items (meats and eggs)
quite a few sandstorm pearls, fetid slime, putrid ooze
crushed topaz and flame emeralds (the only quest gems that sell quckly)
occasional wind-worn stone, razorfiend talon, lock of banshee hair

also get lucky with equipment sometimes:
several pieces of Withered Leather for a few gp each
Shield of the Seneschal for 22pp
lots of Hero bracers for 13pp

can't wait for the extra bank slots so I can load up on even more crap

                            Best find:
Highly polished gem. I call the earring I made with it my GM vendor mining trophy.

                            Strangest:
A couple plane of fire drops (fire mephit blood, molten ore, several firesilk swatches, etc.) Problem is, there was only one guild in PoF at the time, and they decided I must be a guild member selling rare drops under the table. A friend send me a couple pictures of six or so of trying to float my poor AFK vendor into the arena for slaughter, but luckily either they couldn’t manage it or reason of some sort prevailed.

Also gotten all sorts of 61+ spells, wind-worn stones, all the parts for night terror and hurricane chain, all sorts of PoP jewelcraft, that kinda stuff.

Whats the lock of banshee hair for?

I've seen quite a few on merchants and never knew what they were for.

Sounds like you guys are doing much better than I generally do, although I have found the occasional gem. Off the top of my head...

HQ Tundra Kodiak Pelt (found in the Oasis in TD - how did THAT get there!?)

Hobgoblin Meat (one - in Toxulia Forest, of all places)
