      Cloud, were those combines done in the last six months? The change in caps came in September 2004, well before the deadline I've set. In fact, I specified the six month deadline specifically for cases like this. There is a reasonable chance that there may have been a change to the trophies around the time tradeskills were changed to a cap of 300. I don't know this for sure, but to avoid any confusion, I've chosen to ignore it entirely. This is also the reason that I'm ignoring the restricted tradeskills -- I don't trust that the trophies are identical to those in general tradeskills.

        How about the trophies have no fixed trivial and the succes/fail rate from a certain skill lvl is hard coded?

          For all we know ALL items have a trivial. In addition Items can have a maximum succes rate. There is nothing in the data that indicate the trophies do no obey normal rules.

          All available data points to trophies having a 335 trivial and a max succes rate somewhere in the 70-75 range. I find it as least as likely that they introduced a max succes for trohies, as they shoud have changed the trophy trivial.

          Actually the data presented here only supports the max succes part, in order to find the trivial you need to do combines with effective skill in the [200-270] range.

                  I'm not prepared to make any comments yet, since I haven't done much by way of analysis other than straight ratios. So far, those are inconclusive.

                  However, I will say that Ishwar's post about the possibility of a success rate cap got me thinking. I sponsored (actually, I'm doing it as I write this) about 100 additional attempts in the range of 200-270. That should hopefully provide enough data to establish whether there is a cap or not. Based on that, I can then proceed with the analysis as appropriate.

                    OK, folks, I'm getting really close to getting this down. I really, really need data on combines in the following ranges:

                    Skill 280-290
                    no mastery
                    no modifiers

                    skill 266-276
                    no mastery
                    5% modifier (like a geerlok)

                    skill 270-280
                    mastery 3
                    no modifier

                    skill 257-267
                    mastery 3
                    5% modifier (like a geerlok)

                    Of course, I will happily accept data on combines at any skill level, mastery, or modifer, but I really need data on combines at these points. The graph of success rates that I'm getting is shaping up very nicely.

                    Also, if anyone is skilling up on trophies, please please please keep accurate records of your success/fail rates and report them here. The more data I have, the more accurate I can make my final estimates.

                    I'm going to start throwing equations at my data around Monday or Tuesday, so any info I can get before then would be a great help.

                      too expensive for me to continue doing trophies. i am at 289 and farming nightmarewood items. I plan to use trophies on last 5 skill ups. I am working on buying enough gems to make 200 seals. Its going to take a few weeks I am afraid. not enough gems out on the market.
