I was really enjoying working through the quests, and am very dissapointed to find that it is mainly tinkering. I am not a gnome, and I dont know any high level tinkers.

In that light, it is virtually pointless for me to work on the quest.

It is nice to give specific tradeskills power boosts, but I wish they would make them tradeskills that everyone has access to. Not like OOW that gave rogues and shamans legs up on combines, or this that gives gnomes a leg up. ::shrugs:: Its a nice bone to those classes, and fits with the lore, its just frustrating to not be able to participate because of my race.

actually the aaaa container requires more skill in tinkering then anything and a skilled tinkerer is more inclined to make it and sell it then just make the parts for somebody else.

The problem really isn't the AAAA being consumed on Last Blood or even Bazu combines. Its the Discordant and especially the Chronal seals that is the issue. Those of us able to get Bazu and Last Blood stones aren't going to care about the cost of the AAAA, most of us can afford it. For the quality of the item you get, its well worth it. But I see very few if any making Chronal Augs, as they just aren't worth spending that much plat on for a 55 hp/mana aug, even the 120 hp/mana discordant seals are questionable.

I'd personally like to see a lesser version of the AAAA that works with just the Chronal and Discordant Stones. Have it use the same recipe except instead of using Large Block of High Quality Steel have it just use Block of Iron, that would reduce the cost significantly and be more in line with the final item you receive.

*shrugs* If I got my hands on a Chronal or Discordant Stone, I'd use an AAAA for it in a heartbeat. Considering I have spent 200-250k making augments for myself (Radiant Kyanites), and probably pushing near 1-1.5 mil plat on my armor and augments... like the cost of an AAAA really bothers me.

For a lot of people, they wont care. I shrug my shoulders and take it for myself then. 55 + resists it's already a better aug than what I have in a few pieces, the remaining effects are a very nice perk.

After making a handful of AAAA's and a holepoker, I would have no issues making AAAA's for my ALTs if I could get my hands on Discordant or Chronal Stones. Sure its a pain to farm the components but at least you can get Exp for most of them. Frankly, I would like to see the Clockwork Gnome parts be vendor sold. Astonishingly enough my production line is being constrained due to the availability of Clockwork Gnome Bolts. Everythign else is drops at a decent rate. The limited number of mobs that drop these parts are pretty much perma camped. Sure you can do missions but the drop rates in them are even worse than CC, even when you are killing all clockwork models in the zone and destroying faction.
