  • Corathus Fungus Spawn points?

I'm having a terrible time finding any Large Corathus Fungus on my server. I've read the post that says it is a ground spawn in Undershore, and the database listing for the fungus says that it is a groundspawn in Corathus Creep. I've spent 2 days now searching both zones to no avail.

If anyone has any more information about where this elusive fungus spawns, I'd appreciate the information.

    Thanks!

I've been running around Undershore for a while now, and a friend has been looking too. As far as we can tell, it's essentially a random spawn. It seems to be around the lower levels mostly, but that's just a guess. I haven't yet seen another fungus in the same spot that I found it at last time.

My advice would be to run all around the ground level of Undershore and pray for good luck. =/

Gak, I put the wrong zone on it. It's just Undershore, not Corathus. At least, no reports of it in Corathus. Sorry That was a very bad choice of sources to bork up, wasn't it....

Lol. I spent 2 hours doing a grid-search of Corathus last night trying to find this darn thing.

Why oh why isn't it called 'a large undershore fungus'.

Because Technically it is a byproduct of the digestive process of the Corathus.

Also, when instances are updated (they were not last patch, nor the previous patch) it will be available in one of the mines missions, and one of the undershore missions in static locations, and therefore available as often as you can get people to do the missions and the timer allows. As for the specific missions, I will be leaving that up to you guys to figure out. I won't give out all of the info, you guys have to discover some things!

Arggg! I know people are making GM charms using these, they must be, becuase I'm seeing submissions to the database, but I'm starting to think developers incorporated a roving spawn point linked to my location in the zone. The algorithm goes something like this:-

                    10> If Ysall = Near
                    20> Then
                    30> Respawn > half a zone away
                    40> Else
50> Wait till she gets near GOTO 10

I spent 2 hours last night in the Undershore, at ground level, following every beach, every zone wall, checking inside every single building, every single island.

My observations are this. There is no fungus, and my, there are a lot of mobs that see thru normal invis.

If EQ is programmed in BASIC, ima cry IRL

Then again, it might explain things like the RNG streakiness...

                          Still can't find any

Ok, it's now been over a week. I've run around Undershore more times than I care to count, and STILL I haven't found ANY Corathus Fungus. I've logged my character in on several different days every hour or so and had her run the zone. I have guildmates watching for it every time the pass through the zone, I check the merchants in zone with every pass. I just can't find any. Also, NO GM charms have been made on our server. I'm assuming whoever picked it up the first night either destroyed it, sold it to a merchant where it was lost forever, or has it sitting in their bank awaiting silks, hides, and/or metallic drake scales to assemble it.
And now I'm wondering: has any more even spawned? Has anyone found any of this fungus in the water? Has any ever been found in buildings or on the rocky 'islands' out in the water? And does anyone have a general idea of the spawn time on this?

                          Thanks,

I found one on a vendor for a little over 10pp. Needless to say I snapped that up pretty quick. Have seen one other in bazaar (at 30K). otherwise have not seen any others.

I've found two, one in the water and one on the shore. Every time I pass through the zone I check the same spawn points (marked them on the map) and have never seen them there again, so I think it is random - there was also a reset between the two so I couldn't relate the times I found each. I don't really know what to tell you about how to find them, I spend a lot of time doing little quests in the zone waiting for other stuff to get started and its just chance that I saw those ones. When you see one, you'll know right away.
