SOE is hosting a community summit later this month and I wanted to create this thread for people to post suggestions or feedback they'd like me to take to the dev team. I will do my best to communicate with the dev team about whats posted in this thread and write a report of the summit and any response given by them. (this part shamelessly stolen from Gemdiver. Thanks Gem.)

I will be bringing up the item 8 issues (difficulty in the skill up paths to 300) depending on how well DoD addressed them.

    Thanks!

    Well, let's see:

This is still a problem, IMO: the disparity in availability of certain cultural armor tradeskill components as compared to others at the same level.

For example...at the Master level of Tailoring....Wood elves can use abundant Shissar scales for leather tailoring but High elves have to use Storm volaas hair (2 per swatch!) HUmans can also use Storm Volaas hair but as they also have leather classes, they can also use Shissar scales, at least.

At the Grandmaster level ALL silk classes are out of luck, since Coarse Spider Silk is so rare its pratically non-existant, and again 2 silks are required as compared to every ONE Glossy Drake Hide (or Metallic Drake Scale on the Smithing side)

These are just 2 examples, I know that the Halflings and Iksar have a hard time with the Great Reptile Tooth & Hide requirements for their Master's level armors.

      Yes!

Potential solutions I'd like that I believe would be equitable:
      1) Add Coarse Spider Silk to the drop tables of mobs that drop Glossy Drake Hide, and vice versa.
      2) Allow Coarse Spider Silk and Glossy Drake Hide to be interchangable in the GM silk swatch recipies.
      3) If 1 and not 2 then -> Make the numbers of required dropable components comperable for the combines for the various races.

      Some examples:

Grandmaster's Reaver Swatch: (1 rare-ish drop in high traffic instanced zones)
      ---bile spine
      ---glossy drake hide
      ---small spool of iron thread

Grandmaster's Reaver Swatch: (1 rare-ish drop in high traffic instanced zones)
      ---antonican needle
      ---glossy drake hide
---small spool of high quality steel thread

Grandmaster's Metalofiber Swatch: (2 rare-ish drops in low traffic instanced zones)
      ---clockwork needle
      ---coarse silk swatch
      ------coarse spider silk
      ------coarse spider silk
---small spool of fortified bronze thread

      Hug a gnome!

Did not see any changes related to tailoring on the new expansion. Please add reasonable option for high elf tunare types

          Thanks

I'd like to echo the fact that silk combines require 2 drops, and that makes even master's level somewhat painful. The drop rate really needs to be double for silk combines of the master and gm levels.

There are some tailoring combines for DoD, one I have completed was 276 trival and have found pelts/skins that I would assume be for tailoring too.

Give it a little time for recipes to filter through from DoD.

By the looks of it, most of the tradeskills got a few combines each with a couple of them being focused upon eg Research/tinkering.
Mensei 88 Rogue (Gnome) Sal3, GM 300 in all base tradeskills +Tinkering & Poison Making (Melee Research 296 - getting there)
Menssia 75 Cleric (High Elf) Sal3, GM 300 in all base tradeskills (except Research)

I know I whine about this about every expansion and I don't know if there is anything in in DoDH.

Pottery really seems to be the forgotten tradeskill as far as being able to make lots of different things especially when compared to the cost it takes to master it and that difficulty factor thing on it. Many really good recipes were in PoP but with the augments the focus items are less useful but still very hard to collect ingredients. Pottery was skipped over in LoY except for the rogue mortar about that time, skipped in LDoN, a few quest recipes in GoD and the freebie skill-ups, four charms for OoW for OoW armor, two bottles for alchemy in DoN. I think that was about everything. And like I said I don't know what is in DoDH - I am hoping the seals are pottery made but the other tradeksills have been updated a little each time with what seems like either bazillions of recipes (smithing, tailoring, alchemy, poison making) or a few fun ones (brewing, tinkering, baking), but pottery has been rather unexciting and really not rewarding and/or fun enough to encourage mastery for some folks.

In real life pottery and the wider field of ceramics includes both utility items and very beautiful artwork including glass work. It shouldn't be hard to look at glass art, clay arts, even sculpture for some inspiration.

The yields on PoP chain joinings were increased awhile back but this wasn't the problem. The problem is the items to make the Tempers are Insanely rare like metallic substances, liquid earths, drops of pure rain etc.

Please don't forget Fletching post 282 for non-wood elf non karana worshippers. Everyone knows this is an issue. Thus far the 3 that I know have made it to 300 had to spend inordinate amounts of platinum to get there, compared to the store bought route that the favored wood elf or karana worshippers can use.

If I recall correctly, to get from 282 to 300 fletching,
                    * Ysall spent 2.5 million pp
                    * Gigantous spent 1.6 million pp
                    * Celeste spent 2.0 million pp
and this isn't even counting the number of hours farming.

                      Combine ALL or Combine <X>

There really needs to be a Combine all button on the tradeskill UI's.

It is not fun to sit and click through 100's of combines. Not to mention it's not healthy. Tradeskills should not be about who can deal with the boredom of hitting combine over and over for an hour. A combine All or a combine x times would be wonderful. It would encourage people to get up from the computer when they are not interacting with others.

Would you be so kind as to confirm that the skill up calculations are still as previously described? I do not believe that sony intentionally misrepresented calculations, but my paranoia gland is saying that something signifigant has changed over the last 6 months.

We know that they restricted success rates on GM armors (the 60% number that has been discussed at length on these boards), but we dont really know how they did it, and we dont know if there was collateral damage as a result of that change.

There are a few of us hanging on to tradeskills by a thread. The change in drop rates has been a difficult change to adjust to, but uncertainty regarding the calculations is insufferable.

How about info re: taelosian (mountain) wheat recipes? at last summer's fan fair they said it would be added. I know that during DOD Beta I saw highland sludge as a vendor item on those evil eyes that were floating around behind the main bank in POK, so have they been given recipes also? or are they left out in the cold like the wheat?

Well, I have a couple of problems.

                            1. Bankspace
                            2. Bankspace
                            3. Bankspace
                            ... and so on.

Pretty much every alt I have is a set of bankslots dedicated to different tradeskills and still I have huge problems saving stuff, and alts have no room for stuff "of their own". How people on servers with a restricted amount of toons solve this I can't even imagine.

If everything with the "can be used in tradeskills" flag was stackable, and stackable to 200 too, I guess it would solve most of my problems.

Or if there was a shared bankslot of "guild hall" type with an additional 1120 slots (7 alts, 16 x 10 slot bags). I guess it would work too.

Could make additional shared slots available depending on Tradeskill values found on the characters, so if some Expert/Master levels was found on a toon on that account/server it added extra slots to the shared "guild hall"-type bank?

                            ---
Cool smiley added to detract focus from what I'm trying to say --->

I am on this one with you, pottery has been skipped in expansions too often - and again in DoD (the seals do not need pottery). Sometimes I think this is a big plot against potters since pottery must be forgotten at some point in the timeline between EQ and EQ2 (there is no pottery in EQ2). J/k here but compared to what other tradeskills get, pottery is the one left outside.
