    Much to my surprise, Zajeer has announced that the DoN merchant-sold Type 9 augments for visible slots will soon fit in the DoN cultural armors.

      Wow that's crazy good. Now if they just brought the hp/mana up to par with OoW tier 1 quested armor, I'd not have a care in the eq world =)

      Lastly, I hope they add more type 9's! The current type 9's are extremely restrictive in slot availability (meaning fingers, ears, etc).

      Or would be nice to see pottery get some attention. Make slot 9 augs that are made mostly via pottery =D

        Someone quite rightly pointed out my post was easily interpreted as a personal attack instead of the smart-alecky response to a general post-type that I intended. My apologies.

        That said, I'm glad you all like the change (that I had nothing to do with, send your thanks to Zajeer, please). We'll see when that other stuff gets looked into.

              Naw really I think those really are my only wishes =). I don't have any real class concerns or other real trade skill concerns at all. Just "wishy" stuff. I'm having fun just playing the game (which is a reall big compliment to the state of the game!)

                I had a long chat with Absor and Maddoc at the Fan Faire about exactly this topic, showing them the bracers as an example. They agreed that they were totally out of line. They said that a revamp of the cultural armor stats was on their (very long) list of things to do. I don't know when they'll get around to it, but they're aware of the problem and are looking into it.

                    Earlier today I put together this document comparing the DoN cultural armors, the DoN merchant armors, and the Omens Tier 1 quest armors. I sent it to Maddoc and Absor; hopefully it will reduce their work load a bit.

                    I'm posting it here in case anyone is interested, but please keep criticism of the armors to a minimum. The devs know there's an issue and they're looking at it; there's no need to belabor the issue.

                    I've zipped up the file so that it fits on the boards. It's a Word document, and to the best of my knowledge, it's virus free. Still, take the usual precautions before downloading and opening it.

                          Are they going to be interchangable? Wouldn't that mean the OoW augs which are currently type-12 will also be type-9?
                          I tried combining Celestial Solvent, a Raw Rough Hide, Rough Hide Solution and a Skinning Knife. But the result was such an oxymoron, it opened a rift into another universe. I fell through into one of Nodyin's spreadsheets and was slain by a misplaced decimal.

                            I believe all they are going to do is make the type 9 augs on the vendors into type 9 and 12, but either way, still rocks.

                              I've noticed that with each new expansion it seems as though SoE is trying to kill off the previous expansions. This change I guess is the tactic they've decided to use to kill off the OoW augment business.
