  • what is the best tradeskill for a dark elf rogue?

at level 20, i wouldnt bother with tradeskills yet. But as a ROG you might wanna look into Poison making.
If you wanna make some money (not much but) try baking and make some stats food you can sell.

Yep, baking is profitable at a fairly low lvl skill.

As can be brewing, although you need to be about 200 skill...you can get to within 12 points with 1 silver per combine... Just pickup the ground spawn in Shadeweaver's thicket.

And don't worry about the just lvl up comment, while it is true you can move faster through the skill-ups... I had more fun playing around with what comes to hand.

Also, see here for idea on how to both level and tradeskill!

I guess, to answer your question, all tradeskills. Baking probably being the easiest and fastest way to minor profits.
I call for the elimination of EQ levels 1-50.

Poisons may be useless, but Marking and adding effects to augs is a very good side to poison making.

            Rogue Tradeskill

Well, augs would be a good reason for poisonmaking if they weren't so expensive. With a reported 20% failure rate and about 40k per aug with 2-3 combines a casual rogue could go real broke real quick with just a few badly timed failures. As a rogue you are likely to come across allot of dex gear so if you are not interested in poisonmaking you could always give fletching a go around.

At level 20, feel free to dabble a little in all the trades. It is hard to analytically decide what the 'best' tradeskill is. You may find you like one or two better than the rest. Those should be the ones you pursue. You will know soon enough if you enjoy the tradeskills enough to continue working on them.

That said, it is also good to be able to use tradeskills to make things you will use. As mentioned above, Brewing and Baking are the easiest to get started in this way.

I would recommend pottery so you can make your own poison vials:-) The ship in abysmal sea is great for this since the pottery merchants and wheel are in the same room as the poison merchants.

Poisons are NOT useless. There are some rather useful poisons.

Suggestion: do not try to carry the poisons ready made. Carry the parts and make them before you prep them. This will save you a lot of inventory space. Also, study the poison lists and find one or two poisons that you really like. Do not try to carry parts for too many at once.

Yes, they are awkward to use, and impractical in 95%+ of all groups, but that few % times they are useful, they are really useful indeed.

i ymself ahve a kitty rogue. he is lvl 25 and learning to be a potter skill 179(poison vials) and a poisoncrafter skill 262 (augs). the vials i make i can use for my poison which cuts down on my cost considerably. i've spent maybe......8k to get 200 points in poison and less then 1k for pottery. i ahven't amde any moeny yet but once i get my poison to 300ish i can start making the augs. will be a while but i can still get there.

after pot/poison i think i would try fletching cause my str is low but dex is high enough to help. bake/brew are fast and easy but liek said before around 200 skill for profit. thats true for all the trades. start selling CE to get a bankroll if you ahve to

You disappoint me, young rogue. How many hit points do you have right now? 300? 400? Even 500? I can make a poison that does more then that on it's first hit, and then have a proc added on top of that.

No snarer? Poison. Like to duel? Poison. Fighting CHing and Gating mobs? Poison. It's fun never ends.

I hope you reconsider your decision.

any rogue that doesn't take up apply poison at the very least should be shot. granted to use poisoncrafting take s a good amount fo farming and/oir plat but the poisons you can make for combat are worth it. jsut make sure you get your one shot to count. having a 500dmg poison plus a proc plus your backstab plus you weapon proc would make you a very powerful enemy. farm enough supplies until you can make 20 of an item then either apply or sell to recoup then go farm again. may take a while but the moeny won't be gone as quick and you might get a decent group to help you with the moeny problems so you can do Spirit of Sloth with your very own hand potted Sealed Poison Vials

I really wouldnt bother with skilling up on posions at all, its all a big waste of time and money. Much better you stick to sewing and baking bread. Cost 14k to get to GM315. I blew 80k on a failed aug combine a few weeks ago. BIG waste of money, just dont do it.
I wish I had never started it, only good point is the 1.2m pp Ive made on sucessful combines (and thats without any mastery or salvage).
The less rogues who can do them the better the prices, so dont do it, or i'll be sending the boys around to break your legs.
