here something i posted on the official tradeskill boards at soe. I only thought at a later time that maybe it wouldve been better to post here 
In short i analysed known (to me) type 12 augments and compared it to known augmentable type 12 equipment. This was the result.

when the oow tradeskill augments received their type 12 slot, it is my feeling the goal was to fit em together with DoN cultural armor. The only armor, or equipment out there that has type 12 slots. Now as i was slightly anoyed that i couldnt find any augment to fit in my leggings. Type 12 augments i mean. I know all types can go in there. But there should be at least 1 augment of that type of slot/augment type available out there. imo. Else there is no use to making it a type 12 aug.
Now i started to categorise the slots, that i knew don cultural armor covered. Then i wondered. Now there is a slot for which there is no type 12 augment available. Could it be that there are type 12 augments out there. For slots. For which there didnt exist a type 12 slot to put them in. And once more i know they fit in more then one type of augment. But once again. It is my feeling. If they have a type 12 available, then somewhere they should fit into a corresponding piece of equipment. Especially in the case of augments that fit in 1 slot only. Well it seems there are quite a few combinations. That do not fit. And i will list below what my findings were

Conclusion,
Their are no type 12 augments in this list that fit in the type 12 augment slot of the don cultural legs.
A lot of augments seem to fit as type 12's in slots, that are not available in don cultural armor. Face, Neck, Shoulder, Range, Back, Waist.
Would it be possible to allign these 2 sets somehow. As at least i have the feeling that was the goal by giving type 12 to oow augments. put Tradeskill augments together with tradeskill armor. Well there is clearly some work to be done yet here.
To go further in my analysis.
Sodalite has equipment in some of the slots listed. where it can fit in. It fit's in cultural pieces of wrist, and head. Altho there is no range type 12 slot equipment available.
Now to the big list, the list of augments who have type 12 as list, but do not have any equipment they can fit into.
Citrine, Celestine, Apatite, Howlite, Sphalerite, Bloodflow, Boneflow, Emberflow, Fireflow, Mossflow, Mudflow, Shadowflow, Stormflow, Voidflow, Waterflow
Now if i missed some type 12 augments for the legs slot. or other equipment that can fit the big list of forgotten augments. please tell me
