In the last couple of weeks some patches have changed the failure rate of combines. I have been making A vial of Prismatic Dye since the recipe was first created years ago. With 250 brewing and 250 pottery, I have never failed on the subcombines. This is after making at least 600 dye per week, since the recipe came out.
After the recent patches, I started failing about 5 subcombines out of 400. These combines have never ever failed for me. I skilled up pottery a bit (to 256). Now the pottery subcombine never ever fails. So, after only six skill up points, the pottery subcombine no longer fails, but the brewing subcombine continues to fail at a rate of about 1%.
I would like to skill up brewing, but i dont want to until they fix the bug. If it is a bug. I will not know if it is fixed if i skill up brewing. Every time i make dye now, it is basically a check to see if they fixed the code.
This may not sound significant, but it is very significant because it also has affected higher level combine success rates. My smithing is over 300 with geerlock. When i make Magnetic armor, I have about a 95% success rate because the skill level is trivial for me. Since the patches, in the last ten combines of Magnetic Legs, I have succeeded in 6 of 10. In the past, it would have been 10 of 10, and maybe 9 of 10 on a bad day. The prices in the bazaar did not change, everyone expects the same price. So, that means i lost at least 60Kp (assuming 20kp each) due to the changes in failure rate.
This is just one example. It is not just one unlucky day. That is why I have waited this long to say anything. I have been observing success/failures, and am quite certain that something in the logic has changed.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is it a bug? Will it be fixed?
