/Nod. I feedbacked that after using new merchant UI for the 3rd time...
buy button should be moved to the left. and done button in bottom right.

I also agree that it needs a DONE button.

And I love that fact that I can't accidentally buy anything anymore since it doesn't have anything selected when you first "open" the merchant window.

Yeah, but I keep accidentally buying stuff at the end of my buying session, because I keep hitting buy because it's where the done button always was. You can tell whoever designed the window doesn't play the game.

Definitely needs a nice big DONE button. And perhaps a Smaller Buy button.

Optional columns would be better, as suggested.
Quantity might also be a nice addition. But would remove some of the excitement of vendor-diving.

On a side track: They should let us have a 'favourites' section on the merchant. It makes perfect sense. If a regular customer always came into my shop to buy batwings, I would go straight for the batwing jar when I see him. It would make things like jewelcraft/fletching so much easier, or simply just buy pet components etc.

            That image makes me smile.

I was a bit wary but I, too, really love the new window. Even as it is, it's an improvement. I didn't realize how automatic it was to hold down the ctrl key while vendoring until I caught myself doing it with the new UI, constantly, repeatedly, and while consciously trying not to. Of course, relocating my left hand to the escape key to get out of the vendor windows helped some; but once that habit is broken, a Done key would be very much in order.

I posted the following request on EQLive forums, an Idea for the new merchant window...

Would it be possible to add a column with a checkbox or something, so that when checked those items will alway "float" to the top in every merchant window, regardless of how you sort the window? Sort of a Favourites list (like in the tradeskill UI) but for merchant windows, maybe with 100 item limit.

This would allow people to 'float' stuff they always want at the top such as food/water, frequently used spell reagents, interesting items they are on the lookout for....
Would make vendormining a breeze, that's for sure...

The font size is very small and hard for me to read. My eyesight isn't what it used to be and I normally bump all my fonts up but I haven't found a way to re-size these yet. I do like having the name there, but since I can barely read it it's not as useful as you might think.

One thing that annoys me about the new window is that it resorts every time the vendor is sold a new item or has an item bought out. While I can live with it resetting when I am the one selling, it also does this when someone else does the selling. So if I am standing there shift clicking buying stacks of something for skill ups, and someone else comes up and sells the vendor something, it resets my window. I am now targeting the top item on the screen (most likely the item that was just sold), and since I was clicking the buy button.. guess what I just bought.

I've discovered that if you sort the items by name, then leave the merchant and re-open it, all the inventory appears in the right order (the merchant's stock at the top, and all the crap below) and it stays like this even when you log. I've started doing it on every merchant I use, slowly correcting them all (just for me, though).

Hi guys. Great feedback here. We've made some changes, and thought you'd like to hear whats coming for this window.

                      - Merchant window will now start with items sorted by name. The fact that the merchant didn't sort when the window opened was a bug. Now, before you go off and post scathing retorts about not being able to tell which items were sold to the merchant or not, please finish reading all the changes.
                      - We're adding "Quantity" to the merchant. The merchant will now display how many of an item he has. In the case of unlimited items, this will display a "--". "--" will sort, when this column's header is clicked, as if it were the number 1000000000.

So, yes, we're taking away the initial original list order that put "spawn" items first, then "player-sold" last. This was never an intended feature... it just worked that way. That said, sorting the Quantity column in the new window will essentially give you this ordering back, as well as new information you never had before (how many the merchant has on him).

Look for it on Test soon.

Thanks. Good to hear. A done button and the merchants will be perfect.

                            hit esc

You know, you can hit escape to close yer merchant window. Or after looting mob. Or to close inventory window....You get the point. Much faster. unless yer just sitting back and relaxing and don't want to lean forward or turn yer keyboard to where you can use the mouse and hit the escape button with limited movement. (i turn my keyboard)

I quit the game I loved because it wasn't anymore. Guilds allowing farmers in because they could do a lot of damage in raids.
SoE not really doing anything about farmers, macroquesters ect.

Forgot about that. I've done the "run away from the merchant to close the window" trick a lot lately.

That's nice, but the window used to have a DONE button and still needs one.
