How to skill up begging?

I maxed my begging skill by begging the Ranger trainer in Shadowhaven. He never aggroed me.

Also, since I have a gamepad installed for archery, it was very easy to build a hotkey that would work with the gamepad. Naturally, I never left my character unattended. I just read a newspaper or book while skilling up.

Go out to Marus Seru. There are guards there right as you enter from NBL. They are very low con (green to me) and never aggro'd on me when I was skilling up there (while PL'n a friend with my DS every 15 minutes). And even if they did aggro, it's low level and you're right next to a zoneline that you can run and zone out.

One amusing story. A fellow mage trying to skill up begging would hit the key all the time while hunting. One time he broke mez on a mob with a critical fail of the begging!

Finally, a not-quite-worthless use for the hundreds of absolutely worthless training points I had laying around for years. I tested on a few of my characters, and all their trainers taught begging. I trained from 1 to 151 and still have over a hundred points to burn.

I used to work my begging up from Nexus Scions while waiting for ports, but that isn't really an option these days since the Scions are rarely used now.

I skilled up most of my begging by begging from the female dorf standing at the end of the pier at the docks in BB. The advantage was that I could work on fishing skill at the same time. Both crawled up oooooh sooooo slooooowlllllyyy.

Aye, you used to be able to beg ships. The trick was to sit as close to the mast as you could, target the ship and beg away. When I saw this thread I realized the last time I hit the beg key was on the ship run between Freeport and Butcherblock back when the Kunark expansion was still new. /grin

I started to use begging with a new char. I made a Iksar shaman. I figured if he can't afford to be a real caster he should beg!! At lvl 4 I am begging everyone in Cabilis before I roam out to FOB.

I wonder if you can beg from Zebuxoruk's bubble, which is found in PoTime after Quarm is dead (well I suppose technically before he is dead, but then he's in the way ). It has hp but no name!

How to skill up begging? Hot Key is your friend

I use a hotkey that i spam hit during fights to work on skills like this, taunt, disarm, forage, etc or any of thos timed keys.

The trick is thing like forage and beg, you can be attacking.

My hot key does this for my rogue,

/attack off
/doability 1 (beg)
/doability 2 (pickpocket)
/attack on

Remember that begging and pickpocketing will some times get you unwanted attention. Also all skills go up slowly until 40'ish then they seem to skill up faster.

You can do it with a pet too but if you are melee this is just so much easier.

Can't beg pets (or boats, etc) anymore. Can still beg green mobs, though.
