First, please look at your map of the Bazaar to make sure you're in the right place, things have changed.
I have just tried to set up my buyer on Antonius Bayle (thats a Live server FYI) and ran around in every single room in the Hall of the Blue Griffen and tried to set up my buyer, all i got was the You must be standing on a buyer platform to begin Buyer mode. Do i have to mention every name of the rooms i tried it?
I tried the /barter window to see if anyone else had set their buyer up, but no not a single buyer up, thats (zero - 0 - nada - zip FYI) and emagin my suprise when i saw a Trader (yes the ones with /trader command) in the blue rooms ... took a sceenshot if you want to see it ...

Now please tell us what the changes where ....

      Reposted from EQforums:

This is still not working on AB. There are zero buyers active on this server at this moment. To re-iterate, this is NOT the bug about buy lines not showing up, but that the buyer mode is switched off immediately with a message that 'You must be standing on a Buyer platform to begin Buyer Mode'.

I tried many platforms in many rooms of Blue Griffin Hall.

To re-test, I created a character on Veeshan (since Kyroskane posted that it was only 'buggy' on his server) and found a buyer in the Silver room of Blue Griffin hall, then tested that it worked (Buying Manastone, trading Kobold Shackles ). Logged back to AB, copied trader file from newbie to my standard buyer, went to the SAME LOC on the SAME Silver room of Blue Griffin hall -- and not only can I not start Buyer there, there's a TRADER on that platform!

Conclusion: On AB at least, most if not all of the BUYER platforms have been flagged as TRADER platforms.

Devs (Tanker) If you want to see this, I've left my buyer as a seller (1 Fishing Grub for 100 pp ) at 1249.45,676.21,34.79 in Silver room, Blue Griffin Hall, on Antonius Bayle.

Since last night's patch, I can enter buyer mode, but am having the exact same symptoms that Sanadilla described from Test server.

Post patch on Povar (MR) we were unable to use buyer re the not standing on a buyer stand problem, this was rectified in a zone fix later on. Post fix our available buys were only showing 1 item, dulicating items when toggling ect. Eventually found that if I deleted all my buy listings and re-input (pfff all 25 of them) that I was able to Buy/Trade as usual. Was buying all night no probs.

Ok, what I've got from you all, correct me if I'm wrong:
              - AB players still can't Barter (This is a zone data issue (if it's the same problem as the other worlds had)), I'll pass this on to Maddoc.
              - On worlds where you can enter Buyer Mode, your old stored BuyLines give you glitches and show up incorrectly (I think I tried to destroy your old BuyLines for you in the code, since I had to change the storage format, guess that didn't work), but by deleting them and re-creating them, it all works.

              Thanks for the info, yall.

That's been my experience on Karana. I was hoping to avoid recreating since I have a whole bunch of buy lines, but I'll try that.

Copy/paste with some editing of my post on the EQLive forums. I play on Veeshan.

It appears that the barter system (after the second re-patch; so, I'm talking about the bazaar state as it is on live servers right now) is still a little buggy. Here's what I'm seeing happen.

When I first logged on after the second re-patch, I immediately moved to a buyer platform and hit "start barter". I then checked the list of what everyone was buying, and I was surprised to see that only three of my items were listed.

In addition, an odd first item appeared when I hit Start Barter. A new line appeared as the first item in my buyer window, and it quickly scrolled through almost all of the other items I had listed -- I could visually see the other items appear briefly in that line. This would repeat each time I would hit Start Barter. The item it finally settled on was the third-from-last item in my buy list. It turns out the item it stops on was the last "zero" item (see below)

Furthermore, any time I would modify a buy line item, the corrected version would appear in that first line again. The corrected version would be listed correctly in the barter window, but it would be overwritten each time I modify another buy line.

I looked at the BART file for my buyer, and here is what I found.

The lines that are not appearing are in this form:

                  BuyLine28=*2^0^1^1^72722^Radiant Cut Howlite^1442^45000000^2^0

The lines that ARE appearing are in this form:

                  BuyLine29=*2^29^1^1^27754^Flawless Tae Ew Hide^1220^2000000^3^0

Note that the 29 (after the first ^ symbol) matches the number of the BuyLine at the start. That field is zero for all the items that are not appearing in barter, save for the first line. (This is what I was referring to by "zero" items earlier.) I manually edited my BART file to change those zeros to the corresponding BuyLine numbers, and the items now appear in barter searches.

In addition, I have noticed that any changes made to buy lines are not recorded to the BART file until I close the buyer window. This could have serious consequences if I were to create a new buy line, then EQ were to disconnect unexpectedly (e.g., a power outage or computer crash). The BART file does NOT update when an item is bought. Instead, it's updated when the buyer window is closed.

I still have not been able to solve the mystery of the first line, though.

I hope this information helps both those like me who can't figure out why barter isn't working, and the developers who will have to fix this.

"ZzzzZzzzz" on EQlive and TiredGuy was both me, I'd forgotten the password for this forum. Apologies for misspelling KyrosKrane's name.

Anyhow, /buyer is still not working AT ALL on Antonius Bayle.

Buyer is now working on Antonius Bayle.
However, I could not use the old list. It seemed to be okay, but when looking the items up with /barter, only the first item showed up.
Well, that's what the devs said, the format changed.

I had to remove them all and then add them again.

Now come and sell me some items

                      Cheers,

                        *sighs*

Don't you guys ever read the whole thread when you come through these things?

I posted a fix up above that won't require you to delete and readd all of your buy lines. Modifying the file directly takes about a 10th less time than recreating your buy lines from scratch.

                          My mileage may have varied.
Locating the barter file somewhere in the EQDir and changing it would've taken more time than editing it ingame. Plus, no risk to mess it up.

But then, I didn't have 200 items up for buying, otherwise I surely would have heeded your advice, Sanadila

                            *laughs*

Being a bit of a computer geek, it took me no time at all to figure out the file and where it was stored. I have a full buyer line (I think 49 items it the max, I wish they would increase it), so it was easier for me to fix it from the file.

I'm still annoyed that I even bothered to /bug the stupid thing and it still went live, though.

And speaking of being annoyed. Tanker, how come they bothered to give us all those stupid Stones of Beta Whatever when we tested the barter hall for you on Test but never bothered to give us any reward for them? At least if they did, they didn't tell us about it. I don't really care about the rewards, it's just the idea that you guys built the expectation and then didn't follow through.
