does anybody know of a proggie that will record all the items in your account for easy management? i'm dreading ahving to write 8 toons worth of loot down on pen and paper to see what i got

Magelo had a function that would display everyhting on your toon, in your backpacks and in you bank bags in a .txt file.

The /outputfile probably does the trick, but while on the topic I'll mention that I've seen HTML files for toons that apparently you get from Lucy item collector (someone sent me one instead of their magelo link recently to show me their gear). It included all worn, inventory and bank items as well as empty spaces, spells, skills, etc. The nice bit is that all items are linked to Lucy, so if you need a visual reminder it is just a click away.

Does that command get typed into your main chat window? Kind of like dumping your guild list?

Great tip. I am actually using this for all of my characters to be sure that when our server gets merged, that I am not missing any items.

Same problem here. No message. No file.
Tried custom file name and no file name.
Did a complete search in my EQ directory for all files created that day.
Where should I seek the .txt file?
I will do one last try before I /bug it.

No, there is no message. It puts the files in to the EQ main directory by default as I recall with a file name of charname-Inventory.txt.

My wife and I use this command all the time, its part of our normal camp out macro for all of our characters. We have 6 active accounts, and most of those are full of mules. We wrote our own a program to convert all of our inventory files into an Access database as soon as the files are written, and then we can search by character, server, or item. It even lets us see which characters have the most empty slots available. We wrote it specifically for our needs, probably wouldn't be flexible enough for general use though.

But, didn't someone on this board post a program that shows this information in html format, or some such thing?

I just tested it. Trellium is right. It goes to the main everquest directory with a name of character-inventory.txt (for the inventory output, obviously). So, if you don't specify another location, it'll go to that directory. If you give it another filename without specifying a different directory, it'll go into the main EQ directory with the filename you specified.

Thanks for the answers. At least I know now where to look for the files.
Maybe it's bugged while in Trader/Buyer mode? Will check it later.

As for the other management tool mentioned;
Strangely enough I remember that mewkus posted something, so I was able to search for it and found the thread about the Inventory Tool.
