Pottery Glazes
Here's a plea from the Pottery corner:
How about moving the drop location for putrescent blood (PoTorment imbue spell and glaze component) to a mob that is NOT in a multi-group special event area? Right now it only (rarely) drops in the "stomach" event in Torment and is EXTREMELY hard to find/purchase/locate.
And another:
Please have the aggro radius on the inhabitants in the PoJ tunnels where the Alkaline Stone dropping mobs spawn looked at - right now, wall aggro and the subsequent trains it causes makes access to the tunnels fairly difficult and the stones quite rare as well.
I don't bother trying to make the elemental glazes/items, as the "rare" component for them are absurdedly uncommon for anyone who doesn't raid in the appropriate zone on a regular basis. PoAir is particularily nice too, with the random possibility of a raid level named mob appearing on a split from a regular mob making this a REALLY popular zone to do exp in... NOT.lvl 65 Enchanter - Karana

Re: possibility of plat exploit on multi-tools, as was suggested, make their buy-back price = 0cp. Skilling up on tools is not going to bankrupt anyone, the costs to make these tools are small to begin with and it’s such a small part of the skill up route.Master Artisan Maevenniia the Springy Sprocket Stockpiler of the really long name

I would think the best route would be to make a recipe that calls for say a file for example, also use a multi tool. Make it so the multi tool does not summon other tools but instead is used in place of any tool of its kind.
EXAMPLE: A smithing recipe that uses a smithing chisle can use a Smithing Multi Tool instead of the smithing chisle

Even if they could make a tool that would transform into any implement, or at least any for a given tradeskill, the item would still be different from the normal implement and would therefore require a seperate recipe. And for those recipes that use 2 implements you now have 4 recipes to cover all tool scenarios.
I've long wanted them to put something like this into the game, but I'm not sure that they can do it without needlessly wasting space in the recipe database (Ok Ok, I know there's enough of that already). I wonder if they couldn't create some form of "Tool Belt", similiar in function to the /keyring, where you turn the appropriate tool into an NPC to get it added to your belt, and the recipe checks the belt for the item when it goes for the combine? Even that would probably still require extra recipes, and alot of other work since the recipe would then not return a tool... Maybe they could alter all recipes to look to the Tool Belt, requiring everyone to turn in the implement to the NPC first. Or like the /keyring, perhaps the tool could be added on it's first use. I think I'd much rather them spend their time looking into drop rates on Elemental components and the disparities between Plate and Chain, among other things...
Perhaps they can consider the issues with tools as they move forward though, so that any new tools they add could be part of a multi-tool.Dyllwin Dalewalker

Having a universal tool would be quite convenient, but would defeat the purpose of using tools in combines in the first place. If implemented, I would want it limited to those with a minimum level of skill or otherwise make it something to be achieved, like a trophy. The sacrifice of bank space we make for these things is one of the reasons not everyone does tradeskills. Convenience is nice, but it makes our accomplishments less meaningful.Last edited by Naedea; 04-14-2004, 02:13 PM.

At least, that's how the idea was brought up at the fan faire; my notes on it are rather brief since the developers dismissed it.Last edited by KyrosKrane; 04-14-2004, 03:11 PM.Sir KyrosKrane Sylvanblade

The developers scoffed a bit at how you would lug around a forge, but they conceded that the idea is worth reviewing.
Want a RL example of a portable forge?

About the recipe list idea...
Getting the whole list of recipes from the server all the time would be a significant load, I agree. Would it be possible, perhaps, to have the client just log them somewhere when it gets them? This wouldn't increase server load any; it still sends the same stuff at the same times. But you can go back and refer to the logged list.

As it is now, there is very, very little information stored on the client... About 30 favorites recipes worth. Everything else is pulled from the server as you request it. It's the safest, most secure, least problematic solution/implementation.

Cool portable forge.
Same goes for pottery, I see people bringing their own gas fired kilns and pottery wheels to craft shows all the time. Heck, why anyone would make anything but a pot, jar, or bowl on a pottery wheel is amazing, and even those items can be handformed easily. (Try and imagine making an idol on a spinning pottery wheel - unless all of our dieties happen to be rotationally symmetric it can't be done (OK you can manipulate the forms after wheel throwing but...), and most of them appear to be humanoid with an assymetric attempt at mirror plane symmetry. I know, Froni says "blah blah blah...")
Personally I would rather move our kiln and wheel around in the garage than to take my kitchen on the road. And all it takes is a glass bottle, a clear alcohol, and some other ingredients to make a bunch of liquers - no brew barrel or fermentation tank involved once the alcohol is made.
Spring is here - crafting things in the garage without freezing is possible again. Yay!!!Distracted Druid Storm Warden of JinXed on Vazaelle

That is till not that portable.
Portable in EQ = somthing you can put in a backpack.
Though I have always said with MAGIC... what does it matter, magic will make an even smaller item that CAN fit in a backpack workNgreth Thergn
