Does anyone have any information on the playermade Charms? I've read prior that some of the charms would be playermade items - can anyone verify or give additional info?

Any Idea on Charm Tradeskils?

I have heard alot about charms lately. Mostly what we have heard is under what conditions they work more effectively. Example being, less people in a zone, fewer spells memmed, etc...
I haven't personally seen a charm yet. So I suppose what I am wondering, along with many other people, exactly what kind of bonus does the charm give if the certain condition is met? Are there bonuses listed under its information window such as +int or +str if these conditions are met?
I just see alot of interesting things around many web pages, I was just wondering if anyone has specifics, rather than conditions. I guess my fear was Sony botched the whole idea and its not fully developed yet. Great concept, but they(Sony) do have a history.
Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

I have heard the same, all charms found so far have dropped in the new zones and no info on player made ones. I have been checking the bazaar, searching by slot: charm and have seen nothing.
I heard a rumor about a "mammath charm" dropping off wooly mamaths in Everfrost and Eastern Waste but after three hours of poaching I would say that it is probably not true.

I don't see charms being player made for one reason- they're all no drop. I think this is because a non-LoY subscriber is able to equip charms, they are all marked no drop so that you have to actually go to LoY zones to obtain one. It's just a guess, maybe there are charms out there that are droppable, but out of the 15 or so I've seen linked they have all been no drop.

Should be some player made ones
If you read the LOY charm info, it talks about charms that get better when the wearer wears more armor that he made. Wheither this is true or not.. shrug..
"And of course there are rumors that some of these charms only work with arms or armor created by the same weapon or armor smith, and that their magic grows stronger with every piece of the armor set the owner wears."
To me it would make sense that there would be smithed ones for example.. but then again we talking about sony/verant

I take this as the charm would become more powerful depending on how many pieces you were wearing of elder spiritist, jaundiced bone, tolan, etc. armor. Since I wear good number of elysian pieces, I can only hope there's a charm linked to that armor."And of course there are rumors that some of these charms only work with arms or armor created by the same weapon or armor smith, and that their magic grows stronger with every piece of the armor set the owner wears."
Oh, and as to all charms being no drop, it's my understanding that everyone has a charm slot, yet charms are a LoY perk. That's why I think that they're all no drop, just as bridles are no drop so that people who have not bought Luclin can't obtain one.

Heh, for those of you that are wondering why there is a charm slot in the bazaar window. On Fironia Vie I have seen those charms be set up on sale for as high as 100k sofar. We lack that whole No Drop problem so, Bridles and Charms are for sale.

Here is an extract from the LoY web site we all watched:
"Charms are an entirely new breed of magical items that are aware of certain situations and conditions around them. Some even believe that the magic in them is alive, given the way they seem to react differently to each owner. We've discovered three example charms to show you. Unlike the fictitious charms mentioned above, these charms might just resemble what you can find in Norrath"
Anyone happen to notice the word FICTITIOUS?
This leads me to believe that there may not be player made charms. I surely hope not. I personally would like to see something else I can add to my wares to boost sales of cultural armor.

Yeah - I pointed that out when they first put out the charm sneak peak info and everyone said I was being paranoid or reading too deep into charms.Originally posted by AruunAnyone happen to notice the word FICTITIOUS?
Edit - here's the thread

That was the most important part of what they said IMHO - from the looks of things, it would seem that (assuming charms aren't still bugged like there's no tomarrow) they told us the truth.Unlike the fictitious charms mentioned above, these charms might just resemble what you can find in Norrath:
No more EQ for me till they fix the crash bug.

Went round Neriak 3rd gate talking to every NPC I could find, not a mention of anything vaguely charm-like from the lot of them. if there are playermade ones it doesnt look hopefull for them to be 'cultural', but I'll still scour the rest of neriak just in case...Kcalehc K'Venalis

All existing charms are no drop loot from LoY zone critters.
The important word above is "existing". SOE wants to sell LoY to as many folks as possible, therefore, the new spells are no drop quests in LoY only and the new item slot is filled with no drop things found in LoY zones. Buy the expansion and get these new goodies!
Once they've sold a pile of LoY, new charms can be added that are a) player made, b) droppable, c) from non-LoY zones. Until then, if you want the new spells, or charms, buy LoY.
Adding new items/recipes doesn't require adding an expansion, just a patch (and possibly not even a client side patch.) Don't give up on charms just yet. We are only seeing the earliest (proprietary) tip of the iceberg.Garulf Woolfetysh, 59th Barb Shaman, Cazic-Thule
