I doubt there will be any non-LOY or tradeable charms until they figure out a way to prevent people who didn't buy the extension from equiping them. Charms were advertised as a feature of the extension. To allow people who didn't buy it to equip them will upset people for whom the charm slot addition was a deciding factor to buy it.

Any Idea on Charm Tradeskils?

I can think of only two ways they could accomplish that, either a) some nodrop part has to ocme from a LoY zone (and it's not MQable, assuming it's a quest), or b) like the way they setup the bank, Loy enabled players use the BigBank UI, non-LoY players use the BankWindow UI file. Or, just make charms unequippable by anyone that doesn't have LoY, you try to auto-equip a charm, or drop it in the charm slot and it bounces (like other items do now, for wrong race/class/level/religion).Garulf Woolfetysh, 59th Barb Shaman, Cazic-Thule

Well, according to what they said almost every single account has been acitvated for LoY. Why punish us for the few that haven't? In my opinion, charms should drop everywhere. It is too much of a dynamic slot to just let go to waste for people 1-35 and 60-65. It has so much potential. There are tons of great charm ideas out there waiting to be made. The important word above is "existing". SOE wants to sell LoY to as many folks as possible, therefore, the new spells are no drop quests in LoY only and the new item slot is filled with no drop things found in LoY zones. Buy the expansion and get these new goodies!

Agree with Cantatus, it would be a waste just to limit to a small set of zones. And also agree the possibilities with the ideas floating around are very exciting as well.
It adds another dimension (small as it maybe) to the game, therefore adds just that little bit more value to it.
I believe its a good *business* decision, but its not one you will be able to measure in profit, as compared to leaving it as it is (which would still be hard to measure), and that might keep charms were they are...
Ouch that was far too gloomy.

Quested, from Froglok in Gukta, who generally won't talk to non-frog players (you can trade with them, but the quest givers tend to be looking for you to be a frog). Thus you have to have LoY to play a frog to get the charms. I haven't really checked out Gukta since LoY went live, any non-frogs been able to do the frog newbie quests?Garulf Woolfetysh, 59th Barb Shaman, Cazic-Thule

The basic froglok newbie quests (the run around Gukta quests) and the newbie armor quests do not result in a charm. Currently, the most likely suspect is the "soulstone" that the High Seer in Gukta offers to make for you provided you bring him three items.
One of those items has been located as a groundspawn in Upper Guk.
It is believed that the other two items are also groundspawn - and that the items in question are little bags that currently can't be picked up. When you click on them, literally nothing happens.
This is a well known problem, and I imagine VI will fix them in the next patch - but since VI hasn't announced the date of the next patch, I have no idea when this will take place.
I'm actually surprised how long its been since the last patch, especially considering how new LoY is.

charms & stuff
Two things...
First, there is a 'bag of nothing' in PoK. This may be another of what Eumerin noted in Guk. It spawns on the brickway near the druid port in and the fletching shops.
Second... I suspect that they may do something with charms similar to what they did with POTC. Make a no-fail combine of droppable ingredients that must be handed in to an npc in LoY zones OR make the combination container only availble in LoY zones (like the PoP stuff needs the PoK loom.)
Just mah two cents...Qtpie
