Religion can be a very big adjustor for faction. As I recall, if you want to be nonKoS in the most places to start with, make an agnostic gnome.

Gotta agree with Chenier on this one.

I once thought about creating a Chanter to use for tradeskills, but I ran one before (used him to do the Stein of Moggok quest a few times, which is the reason I created him in the first place (this was pre-PoP, btw)) and didn't like it. I think he was lvl 12 when I deleted him. He was a DE, so I was able to do the quest (with the help of a Druid who ported me around and used a disposable alt to kill the fish in Qeynos - I got him a Stein for helping) at lvl 8.

There's a vendor there with the word (General Spells) under his name who sells EVERY Imbue, Enchant, and Mass spell existing.

Re: Illusions

Regarding Illusions...

Religion is everything. You can disguise your race with an illusion, but for some reason, they can always tell who you worship.

The only way to get into places like OT in illusion form, is to ALSO worship a god that the DE's accept, or be agnostic of course.

My agnostic Gnome chanter can put on DE form and be fine there.

Now you can do faction work etc to get in there, but I'm talking a good race, with an illusion on trying to thwart their KOS status.

the guards in The Overthere are on Venril Sathir faction - which has its own special considerations. If you've ever helped a druid with their epic, hunted in KC, Timorous deep, Charasis or Kaesora, you've probably trashed your Venril Sathir faction. But are there any dungeons, never mind the best in the game at the time on Firionia Vie faction? Of course not. Don't get me started.

I know agnostic Erudites can waltz into the Overthere (with no faction work? I suspect not since there's very few ways to *build* the faction - you can hand in berserker braids or tag dragons in Kunark), I don't know about other races. I suspect races that have evil classes available to them would have the same thing (humans being the only other one I can think of besides the traditional "evil" races).
