A heads-up on fixes for the new UI

As to this, I have two accounts, and every time I switch accounts I have to turn it off. That's pretty much the trigger for me.

Yeah, just about every single time I log on or switch characters....

I also noticed that the send sys info button flips off and on also.

The Show Help thing is very annoying when you are flipping between as many toons as I have, back and forth, sorting TS stuff to different alts....

I have tried leaving it flipped on to see if maybe it would be flipped off on my next log on, but it didnt' change a thing, seems to be very random, once in a great while I will have it not flipped on, but mostly it turns itself on again over and over again

I know that one my server BB, there are a lot of people that are having this same annoyance.

I've had the target help turn itself back on, but only very occasionally. Perhaps once every couple of weeks (and my playtime is typically several hours each night, leaving my account logged in overnight occasionally with my vendor in the bazaar).

It does NOT seem to be tied to...

Patch days
Crashing
Changing to different characters
Changing to different characters with diff. UIs.
Logging in or out of the game.
Changing UIs (from within the game)

It's been infrequent enough that it's hard to track every possible variable, but I'm reasonably certain that none of the above have happened just prior to the option being toggled. I've feedbacked this information already, just wanted to post here in hopes that it may be of use.

Thanks for the update Tanker. Its appreciated when you guys drop in from time to time with info.

I, for one won't mind losing my favorites so as to get it right. I only have 8 (5 brewing/2 Baking/1 smithing) and they won't take long to memorize again. I hope it fixes the Add button also as mine is always greyed out no matter what container I open in the new UI..

Again, this is great news! losing the current recipes and favorites is a very small price. heh Actually, it can be seen as a good thing to help clean out those favorites (e.g. the Abysmal Sea tradeskill quest combines) we won't use again.

Like another above, this does raise the concern of those of us who have finished all of the 400 combines for each trade in Abysmal Sea, will we also lose the *check* that we've completed them and have the *knowledge* now?

1. This has nothing to do with your skill at performing the GoD combines. None of that will be wiped by these changes.

2. Thanx for the thread derail on the "target help option". I shouldn't respond, but I talked to the guy who did that, and he fixed it. It'll go up next live patch. He's allergic to chocolate

Thank you very much, both for the heads up (though I'm sure you'll still have some people screaming about how their learned recipes were stolen when that patch goes live ) and for the increased favorites size. Also, thank you tons for the target click shows help fixing! Much appreciated.

Not to derail this more, but I don't suppose it would be possible to get some in game clues for some of those recipes we haven't figured out yet such as <cough>TormentTailoring<cough>. While it's nice to know that things like this actually exist and have some idea of how to make them, I'd enjoy it more if I wasn't getting the knowledge from a bug.

On a possibly related note...

Will the forthcoming patch fix the umpteen broken quest/non-tradeskill containers? In case you've somehow missed it, numerous people report that the containers don't do anything when one hits "Combine:" no failure message, no "You cannot combine these items in this container type!" message, nothing. This problem seemed to appear around the time the new tradeskill UI went live.

Needless to say, this has people stuck in their quests at all levels of play, e.g, newbie armor quests, shawl quests, epic combines, PoTime key combine, etc.. If this has already been covered elsewhere, my apologies.

Well, no, it won't, but one of the myriad other fixes going in at the same time will.

Also fixed will be the lack of red/green background change when autoinventory-ing a component, or purchasing components from a merchant, etc.

On the matter of the GoD combines, according to the lore you will get better as you do more of the refining combines, I would really like to know if I lose the record of how many refine combines I have done when the UI makes me relearn the recipie. I've refined over a dozen aligned ores in the hopes of getting better at doing so but if my record gets reset each time the UI is worked on I'll just hold onto the raw ore for later. The price of the stuff has been going up these days when you can find it for sale at all.

You know... I really like it that Tanker pays visits to these messageboards, and even more that he brings good news

I makes me shiver in hopefull vision that someday one of the Devs will look around after a particular rewarding session of bard nerfing, and notice that Copy-Pasting erudite cultural plate to erudite cultural silk might not really be the best solution... that and Sol Ro imbued armor so I can finally strut around the bazaar in some l33t wiztunic! ^_^
