  • New UI not opening for Mortar

Celestial essence is prolly one of the most commonly recipes made and used. Since last night's patch, the new UI won't open up when using the collapsible mortar and pestle.

Is this a bug, or how it's intended because most classes can't improve poison making? A friend tried it with a rogue and could get it to open either, so I'm kinda sorta thinking this is a bug.

Previously, I was able to make CE one of my favorite recipes. But now, even trying with cntrl- right click I can't get the new ui to open for my mortar.

I also tried both collapsible and merchant bought, on rogue and non-rogue characters. No luck.

            Well ... small correction.

I tried on a level 1 rogue and no luck. However, to skill up poison requires a level 21 rogue I'm told, so I asked a guildie rogue to try and he said it opened the new UI for him.

So, while we're not any worse off than the old UI, this is incredibly disappointing, especially considering how many CE a lot of recipe attempts use.

            Here's to hoping it's a bug!

Aye, this is why I posted. Celestial essence is so commonly used as an ingredient in so many different recipes, it seems very unfortunate for non rogues to have to manually make it and unable to use the new UI. It is especially tedious to have to make hundreds of CE's over and over again, and exactly what the new UI was designed to alleviate.

It seems only reasonable to me that as long as we are able to make a recipe, we should be able to make it using the new UI.

Wizard here, and the new UI works fine for me with a Black Marble Mortar. I've made hundreds of CEs in it.

Have you tried the Black Marble Mortar since the last "emergency patch", Quesci?

I've had no luck with the regular mortar and pestle or the collapsed. Will try the Black Marble one when i get home from work tonite!

I had not, and tried it tonight. You are right. Neither the pestle nor my toolbox open for me now. I need to use them manually. Bleah.

Same, Made 100 CE's last night by hand.

Not that it matters since I can make them faster by hand, I was just feeling lazy last night.

I really hope this is a bug... Some days ago I was able to open the new ui with a vendor bought Mortar and Pestle, today it didn't work.

The morter and pestle DID work fine earlier in the week. However, today I opened the same morter and pestle and the new UI did not come up.

Also, the Glaze Morter does not work at all (similar to reports of some other containers, including quest containers).

I put my 4 items in, clicked combine and nothing at all happened.

I bugged both in game this morning.

You will probably also notice that the deluxe toolbox is also not opening with the new tradeskill UI. I'm not sure if this is related but a few days ago I had /bug and /petition because as a non Gnome I was able to tinker items. I only tested this with a low trivial item (animated bait) but when combined it worked and stated I could no longer raise my skill. The UI showed me having a skill of 250 so I am only assuming that I could have made any high level tinkered item i wanted.

I have since tried after the patch and am no longer able to combine the items to make animated bait. It looks like the bug was fixed by removing the new UI from these containers. Just a thought.

It's been known for a long time that non-gnomes could attempt tinkering combines, they just couldn't get skill ups.

Same for poison making, which is a good thing, since CE is required in such massive quantities for PoP recipes and skilling up.
