  • Wouldn't it be great if....

.......they added a feature on the bazaar trader that allowed you to offer discounts for bulk purchases.

    for amounts like 10, 25, 50 or 100?

Would make it easier to shift bulk amounts of items, like MTP's and add a new dynamic to the selling process and save less times lowering prices all the time.

But why would any vendor offer a bulk discount, when in EQ there are no economies of scale on the production side? (Briefly, and loosely, economies of scale are what makes the cost of producing 100,000 cars less than 100,000 times the cost of producing just 1 car)

Humm lets see, because you can still make a profit even with the bulk discount and it frees up you capital faster, thus allowing you to reinvest and make more profit ?

So long as your pp is tied up in product you cant make new product.

There are a few things the Bazaar could use. Bulk sales is one.

We should be able to right click on the item in the search window and a pop up with the article and a button to push to buy it. Instead of having to follow a magical path to the seller while looking at the ground due to the horrible lag.

We should have a "Favorites" drop down list. I always check for 1/2 dozen items for TS'ing while in the Bazaar. Would make it easier.

As we are in the age of Interac and Debit cards any sales and purchases should automatically affect our bank account.

I would love that. That way I could offer discounts to my best customers, and even put up for sale some of the items I don't stock normally for them. I'm not too eager to put up some of the stuff I have because I know it will get snatched up by a professional trader, and while I could sell the stuff at a higher price and probably should I'd prefer to throw it in as 'sweetener' so to speak to the most loyal of my customers. The ones I know aren't in resales. I know I can do it out of game but that requires being at the keyboard, which I usually am not.

Id much rather have a 'buy' list.
Playters could sell you items that you have on your 'buy list' as if you were a NPC vendor, and youd pay whatever price you set up.

If you wanted to buy, say, Arctic Wyvern Hides, and someone had some for sale, they could either make a trader, set a price and wait and hope... or they could come to you and sell them to you at the price you are willing to pay immediately. The plat comes out of your bank or inventory (have to have the cash on you).

Probably wouldnt be that hard to code...
Would be a boon for tradeskillers and noobs who dont know the value of somethings that they could farm.
It would also create more of a realistic economy where sellers would stop undercutting each other and buyers would start overcutting each other.

              Sorry

Granted the Bazaar is a great thing, taking the time to sell something down to just leaving your character up all night/day long with your wares. But the bazaar has hurt as well. It's great that you can find stuff that you want with a quick search, but lets say you are 1k short of that item that you so desperately need.

/tell trader_01 Hey, are you there?
Trader_01 tells you " In trader mode sleeping"

I actually miss some of the finer points of the EC tunnel trading system. To sell, you actually had to be there, meaning that you could haggle a little over the price, you could accept trades in plat and items if you wanted to.

The buy list would be an interesting addition, maybe a 'if you sell trader_01 spiderling silks for 10pp each, you get credit towards your purchase (could bring back the 'plat and item' trade?)

Maybe I'm just dreaming, maybe I'm an old geezer...
              Oh well...

250 in brewing with a trophy! All other trade skills? /sigh don't ask.

Vendors in SWG have a lot of these abilities, and it would be great to see more of them in EQ.

What I would love is to have ability to sell things in sets, let's say inside a trader satchel which can be collapsible in to a token with the contents inside. You can turn in the token to get the original content back. You would of course need to see the content of the bag before buying the token.

This is great for selling the PoTC earring quest items as a set. Or selling components for one stack Solstice robe combine, chain, 60 blessed tunare silks and 20 celestial essences. How about a stack each of Cod Oil and Artic Wyvern Hides? And so on. This sure would help save some time running around the bazaar trying to find components.

i'd like to set up complete runs of mtps or halas pies in sets for sale. instead of just getting mammoth meat bought out you paid 10pp for each of the 4 meats in cream and 2 doughs. i bet i could sell that all day.

Sarcasm? I rather like the idea of buying from anywhere in the bazaar. I am one who never appreciated that "making it harder makes it more fun!" rule. Perhaps we should remove guild chat, group chat, ooc, and shout because those things are unrealistic or make the game too easy?

This is a role playing game and if we are going to maintain a tacit implication of role playing, I think it is appropriate to go to a particular zone to do this, but freedom to buy things from anywhere in the zone would be good. I personally derive no joy from trying to navigate the bazaar, especially with lazy players all stacking their traders on top of one another at one end of one row.

You don't have to agree with someone's ideas, but there's no reason for people to be getting snide about them. Let's try to get this thread back on track please.
