  • stuff we want learnable or autolearnable

to start off. obviously cultural should be can learn at minimum. its their cultrual grandpa would of told them in the stories when they were little. think it's time constraint atm.

    General
pop combines that aren't for quests at minimum for all trade skills
    cultural

    Smithing
request dye fine plate recipes be switched to can learn instead of auto learn.
ldon armors can learn (think ring is but not plate. any confirms here?)
ethereal sheet metal and metal rings

    Tailoring
request wu's garments be autolearn. its not that hard to learn them but would be nice.
    Hand-made backpacks autolearn
    tailored quivers autolearn
Velious leather and fur can learn
ethereal silk swatch and cured ethereal energy

    Baking
all parts of bristlebanes party platter because they are actually eaten and have their own stats

    Brewing
    ethereal temper and curing agent

    Pottery
glaze mortar doesn't show new ui.

    Jewel Craft

    Fletching

    Fishing
    fishing tackle recies
prepared fish recipes and fish bone recipes can learn

    Alchemy
sow potions (blood of wolf i beleive) [Maddoc explained data lock. Many of these are alreay switched but not quite in time for GoD launch,]

    Posion Making

    Tinkering
non-gnomes getting 250 tinker skill to show.

all i played with last night were tailoring and smithing. others?

Hope that helps. I won't be responding to requests for this recipe or that to be marked CanLearn/AutoLearn. I don't do the marking, I don't make the decisions. I would suggest compiling a list here on EQTraders somewhere and submitting it through Niami after a while.
idea from tanker. delete if mods here feel inappropriate.

    edit updating with suggestions.

I think any recipe should be learnable frankly... I don't look at this new UI as a nice feature, but as a necessary ergonomic fix. I stopped doing tradeskills largely becasue my wrists couldn't take it (that numb, tingly feeling begins to set in after 60-100 combines), not becasue it ws "too hard to do."

I understand not spoon-feeding us recipes, I wouldn't mind if NONE were in there (except maybe no fails), but every one should eventually be in there.

If a recipe shouldn't be made much, then the devs should make the drop rate more rare, not torment our wrists.

I agree about the Wu's thing... I am right at the point where I can 'do' wu's (yes.. cry for me now) but it took me a few tried to 'search' it out... even then I couldn't find it so i had to do the 'experiment' thing till I made a peice.

Oh... and did anyone else find the RNG being a bit strange last night? Under 40 combines of Wu's Masks and ?gloves? (the other one silk swatch combine took me from 119 in tailoring to 145....

      Me -
Me after that many skill ups -

      hehe

250 in brewing with a trophy! All other trade skills? /sigh don't ask.

I did a stack of acrylia reinforced sleeves ("learned" the recipe after a couple combines) and didn't get a skillup, but at 218 that's not unusual. I will love it even more once it gives me a skillup and I already totally love it. No more arranging and rearranging my bags to make celestial essences! I whipped through those last night in no time at all. Thank you SOE!

Baking. PoP recipes please I think this is a case where the flagger ran out of time though. Also would like to see Halas Meat Pies, but maybe that's a can learn? Haven't tried it yet, I concentrated on MTPs last night. (I now have plenty to feed my guild and restock my vendors, yay!

Every recipie should be Learnable. Whats the point of a new UI to help you if its selective?

As it stands, it looks like its built to help people get to around 190 or so skill - but after that, its back to the same old click fest. Very very disappointing....

Things I could not "learn" to make last night: (242 skill in smithing, so these are trivial to me)

Tailoring was a little lacking I’m 191 and the highest it would list was in the 130’s. Perhaps this will improve in time.

wu's has to be learned. its not automatic. also they ran out of time and no pop item are done yet including sheets.

                reasons things shouldn't be learned
its in primal scream but there are reasons. i linked that because i imagine the disscusion will get more heated there.

halas pies are also can learn. i think the subcombines should be auto learn though. cream is used in several things and the meat in cream suace has stats on its own.

edit. i linked that because i imagine the discussion will get more heated and be more appropriate there. not trying to start flames.

are the fillets for meat pies auto or can learn? didin't have time to look.

I opened up my collapsible sewing kit (my tailoring is 190) and hand made backpacks were not on the list. So I made one. And I still didn't learn it.

I would hope the backpack is just an omission -- it seems a classic recipe that a more advance tailor would want for ease of use.

Also I didn't try it, but I have been told that no Wood Elf Cultural is learnable. I am GM fletcher and would love to have the Blessed Faydark series be learnable, simply for ease of combines. The subscomines at the Fier'dal forge are also annoying, b/c I am always fumbling for acylia when I want Mithril and vice versa.

I would strongly request to Sony that these be added to the recipe list or be made learnable. (apologies if my info on this is incorrect).

I don't know of any reason for any recipie to not be flagged canLearn. It's true that for many quest items that once you perform the combine once, you'll never do it again, so you don't care if it is flagged canLearn=false or not, but apathy is not a reason to mark the recipe un-learnable.

If they have specific parameters regarding what should be not-learnable, they should have defaulted all items to canLearn, and gone thru the database turning individual recipies off. Going thru the database (after release no less!), to turn things on is patently offensive to those of us who had been eagerly awaiting the release of this UI, stockpiling items in the mean, only to be savagely dissapointed when their mephit sandwhiches didn't load into their UI list.

                      Can learn, Auto learn

Personally, I think any recipes NOT listed should be CanLearn. Sorry, but after you make it once, it should be added to the recipe list. As for recipes that aren't canlearn or in the recipe "Lists", for Alchemy, none are adding, and the ones listed are ones no one ever asks for. Great for doing Skill Ups, I guess, but not for selling. Think I musta done close to a thousand Blood of the Wolfs since the UI launched, (Yes, it's my biggest money maker) and it never added of course.
Overall, great idea. Still needs alot of work tho, from the Alchemy viewpoint. I only tried one fletching recipe, my favorite one, and it added right away. Class 6 Steel Silver Tipped. WOOT!
NO cultural fletching recipes are in the UI tho, didn't try to add any, since that takes a while to do. (I do my own cultural smithing for the components). Her's hoping it all gets worked out fairly fast. Otherwise Logitech won't be losing this customer, hehe.

I was pretty sure that I posted pre-release that not all recipes would be flagged with the initial launch of the TS-Interface, but that a great many of them would be.

That still holds true, what you currently have access to is merely the first evaluation of the tradeskill recipes. I'm currently in the process of making the second round of flaggings, which should make it to you guys with the next scheduled update. Nothing to be angry about yet, I've not forgotten you.

steel guardian arrows, made 20 stacks of subcombines....then had to start clicking the old way...talk about a disappointment

thankfully, all the subcombines were learnable after the first try.

My personal opinion is that any recipe a person is likely to make successfully more than once should be on the CanLearn list.

In other words, quest item combines like, say, the Solstice earring, don't belong on the CanLearn list. Nor would things like the newbie armor material combines or the newbie armors themselves.

The parts that make up the Solstice earring, though (Mistletoe Cutting Sickle, Ceremonial Solstice Robe, etc.) do belong on that list. Banded, Fine Plate, Heraldic / BFM / Dark Prince, etc. armors belong on the list; they're made commercially or for skillups. (Yes, I do realize that some of these are already marked CanLearn. It's just an illustration.)

Two items I noted yesterday while skilling up that are not on the CanLearn list -- Arctic Wyvern Hide Masks and Cobalt Drake Masks. These are two very common skillup items in tailoring. I would presume that this extends to the entire Arctic Wyven and Cobalt Drake lines. I would love to see these added.

At least every recepy that can be found in store sold books should be in there in one way or another.
