With the exception of smithing (213 and 194) and pottery (236) I don't feel any compulsion to skill up. I have 250 baker, 250 JC, 23? tinker, 23? brewer (and MHB are added), 184 alchemist and tailoring has never interested me.

I'm mostly interested in stuff I'd farm and sell for profit. PoP JC, and various PoP baking.

edit: I'm not going to go through the list of things I'd want to make and check if they are can learn or not and then submit here the list of what I want added. There's no reason not to just put everything in.

evb's probably aren't going in. you aren't going to ever skill up if you can't use the new ui on them?

ok. shadow scream and sickles are in i have read here. a guildie was using opal steins (triv 22 so not as high as you want) to skill up last night. since i don't beleive enchanted bits will be added if you aren't doing sickles or shadow scream i don't think your going to skill up then. ldon armor ring was added to my recipe book last night i beleive.

so they add something new that helps out those with lower end tradeskilling skillup paths...

they add the ability to learn the higher end items, and are admitting that not all of them are in, but more recipes will be added soon...

they KEEP the existing tradeskill path as an option...

what exactly are you complaining about?... that the whole new system isn't tailored around your specific tradeskill needs and therefore, the whole thing is pointless and wrong?

They're giving us something new... for some, this will be a boon, for others, it's only a minor upgrade, and for obviously you... this has no effect whatsoever. So if it doesn't effect you... why are you so upset over it? because others might get more out of it than you?

          Kiztent,

No one is forcing you to use the new UI. No one is forcing you to use the old one either. In fact, no one is forcing you to do tradeskills at all. If you don't like them or they're not your idea of fun, don't bother with them, it's as simple as that.

If all you can see is how this tool will affect your pocketbook, then I believe you've missed the point of the new interface entirely.

The new interface is a very nice tool for all involved, helping to automate the process a little bit, and save intense amounts of clicking.

It was also a large undertaking to be able to flag tens of thousands of old recipes, and the thousands of Gates specific recipes that had just been added. It's not an instantaneous change, it has to be evaluated.

A large chunk of recipes were flagged. There are still some that were not, which I am currently in the process of evaluating and flagging. When they officially go in, they'll be announced in an update message, so you won't need to do anything to know that more recipes have been flagged.

All recipes flagged or not, this is still a very nice upgrade for the tradeskiller community.

I, also, would like to thank you. I absolutely LOVE the new UI. I have been using it a lot since the patch - I skilled up in brewing from 229 to 250 easily in a couple of sessions - and my hands and wrists are completely satisfied!

I know that these things will always have initial glitches and there are still things to work out - but - I am EXTREMELY grateful to you guys for coming up with this. I think it's AMAZING!!

              Keep up the great work!!

That's pretty much what I've done for the last year or so (if you notice my posts I've stopped posting in the smithing forum and focus in OOC and primal scream except for technical posts - probable success rates and various research posts into the process of skilling/creating).

The problem is that I used to enjoy tradeskilling. I'd like to enjoy tradeskilling again. The new UI comes very, very close to making tradeskilling enjoyable for me (I actually sat down and skilled up my brewer since MHB are auto learn), but falls distressingly short. That, to me, is much worse than just leaving things in a state I already know I don't like. Teasing.

The new interface is great... I know it's a work in progress still and maybe the problem I'm having is just a bug.

Basically, I made some Hero Sandwich components (Spiced Hero Parts and Smoked Hero Parts), all of which gave me the "You have learned the recipe for ... " message. However, doing a search for Smoked or Spiced did not show the two items that I had learned. I zoned and relogged to see if it was added, but it still wasn't. I was using my collapsable spit for all the combines and checks.

Is this a zone issue? Like the search will work properly in PoK and nowhere else, or is this just a collapsable spit issue?

In response to your question regarding Collapsible spit - I made Spiced / Smoked and then Hero sandwiches yesterday.

I tried in my collapible spit and found the recipe that I had learnt using a Taanan Oven was not availible - I popped back and checked using an Taanan oven - and it was there...

So, relearned it using my Coll. Spit and all was fine - will be logging in later today and will check to see if it is still there /grin

Thanks to Maddoc and Tanker for all their hard work!

I noticed that if I learned the recipe with a stationary loom it would show up the next I used a stationary loom but wouldn't show up in my collapsible sewing kit until I also learned it in the sewing kit.

Has anyone had this trouble ? I look up a recipe and my add button stays grayed out. I was doing casseroles and then MTP's and couldn't add any subcombines that were listed to my favorites. If I look up the recipe it's there though.

I had that, the remove button was clickable, so I removed then added the recipe to faves.

I'll check tonight but I seem to remember that it's always greyed out now. I went to make Steel boning and the recipe showed on my favorites. But it was wrong. When I clicked on it the actual recipe was for sheet metal. So I deleted it and searched for steel boning again, but I can't add it to my favorites..

                              buttons

I have that exact same problem!! I cannot add anything to any tradeskill container as a favorite. The Add button is just grayed out for every recipe in every container i haveused lately (loom, forge, brew barrel, kiln, CE container I know of for sure)

Also, some of the favorites i had added last wednesday are now different recipes. For instance, i looked up scent of marr CE recipe and added it. When i went to do CE on Sunday, the recipe was different (some word CE recipe). I have had that exact same issue with every recipe I added to my favorites last wednesday. I have removed most of them as I have used the containers. Now I cannot add any more favorites. No biggie, but would be nice....

Otherwise I have been leaning new recipes for the high level ones. I have noticed two recipes I did not learn but wanted to was Ethereal SilK swatches and Cured Ethereal Energy-perhaps soon

The problem I ran into was that recipes could be learned with both a collapsible medicine bag, and a collapsible spit, but, they would only ever show up in a noncollapsible container. It's annoying as all getout, as I got all those collapsible containers for my convenience.
