  • For folks saying the UI isn't laerning a recipe

Or, for folks that are saying it isn't in there to begin with.

One thing I learned last night was that the recipe list is severely limited in what it can display all at once.

You even get a message in your normal text window saying something about the list being over 100 items or something, to try refining your search.

For example: I decided to test it out by getting from 241..248 brewing on Mino brews. Imagine my dismay when even after sorting I couldn't find the recipe.

However Typ in Mino in the partial name box and hit search, and viola! The recipe shows up.

I'm guessing that folks may find a lot less "missing" recipes. Sure, some are, but not as many as you may think.

Most people are aware of this, however the problem most of us are experiencing is the dissapointment that there are SO many recipes that are not "learnable" and will NOT show up in the list.

Hopefully these will be added later.

I am extermely dissappointed that as a 250 TSer I cannot see many recipes even if I go back and do successful combines of them in the Experiment Window

      4. Marking said recipes AutoLearn and CanLearn is a work in progress. A lot of recipes can (and probably will) get marked as one or the other in the near future.

The issue is that there are just sooo many recipes that aren't flagged canLearn. And it so happens that most of the recipes that aren't flagged canLearn are the newer PoP, Luclin, LoY recipes - the recipes most people are making these days. This kind of makes the new ui a little pointless.

Which patch did they say they would add more recipes? Tomorrow, next week, one 6 months down the road, right after they finish up the final raid zone for GoD and actually make the flag event doable?

Having worked in customer support I read between the lines too much, promise that something will happen, without a date means little or nothing 5 months later, if 2 recipes are added then they are living up to what they said, you can only go by what is there at this time, or if they say something going to happenat a specific time, well there is a shot of that happening with in a month after that date.

From the other thread about this in this same forum
I was pretty sure that I posted pre-release that not all recipes would be flagged with the initial launch of the TS-Interface, but that a great many of them would be.

That still holds true, what you currently have access to is merely the first evaluation of the tradeskill recipes. I'm currently in the process of making the second round of flaggings, which should make it to you guys with the next scheduled update. Nothing to be angry about yet, I've not forgotten you.

So I'll need to go through all the recipies I'd like flagged the next patch, and the next patch after that (repeat ad nauseum) to see if they've finally been added. How exciting.

but you are going through those recipes so it must be worth it. i don't mind not doing it till i get to a point where i need that recipe though.

To pick a simple example, MHB are flagged now. So I got, um, 20ish brewing skill points last night because that was not a terrible thing to do (plus most of my regular group wasn't logged on).

Suppose there's a recipie I don't feel like farting around with doing, but will do on the new UI (MHB is a perfect example of this) that is flagged don't learn now. After the next round of flagging, I'd have to attempt it to see it it's can learn, and if so, I'll do a skill up run, if not, I won't.

Essentially I have the following options:

1 - Run this experiment every scheduled patch until the recipie I want is marked can learn (or a list of recipies that will NEVER be marked can learn or an autoritative "this is it, no more" is given)
2 - Let someone else do the work for me
3 - continue to ignore tradeskills as a pointless pain in the ass and curse the new UI as something that almost could've won but lost

got 14 points from mhbs myself last night.

                          1. it will probably be reported here if its a skillup recipe.
                          2. what recipe? farming is the hard part of many skills.
                          3. the new ui broke you so you can't skill up the old way anymore?

i think the new ui is wonderful but i gmed on picnics before it. i could have done the mhbs last night the old way but this is easier and quicker and would have eventually if the new ui had not been added. if the recipe isn't there yet you can still skill up the old way. sickles, mtps, solstice robes are all in it now anyway. shadowscream is can learn. what recipe are you worried about? put it in the i want this lernable thread.

I'm perfectly aware of how to use the various functions of this board, the point is the new UI was supposed to make things easier. With the dearth of recipies, it's useless.

As for 3, I take to heart the philosophy of "life's too short to do annoying stuff unless they pay you" and I have not done a skill up run in any tradeskill since well before they fixed the HSM war. I have farmed no supplies, I have sold components I can use to skill up. I had hoped the new UI would make tradeskills less stupidly annoying and I'm correspondingly much more irritated that as implemented now, it doesn't. As I've said it could've won, but didn't. Better to have done nothing than done something so wrong.

ok. i have a high tolerance for this stuff. what are you trying to skillup then? brewing hit 200 on me yesterday. tailoring got to 154 finally because heady's weren't as bad to make. smithing has a lot more sheet metal made but need to farm more padding. pottery went to 135. fletching to 170 once i learned the crappy silver tipped arrow recipe. are you just talking about 200+ recipes?

need actual recipes to put in please tag these recipes thread.
