They need the super trophy. Hand in all GM trophies (minus alchemy) and get the +5% to all tradeskills trophy.

I'd think itwould be rather cruel to include poisonmaking and tinkering in there, without their friend alchemy

Well, if it required poison and tinkering then only gnome rogues would ever get it. That would be the ultimate suck.

But I agree with the previous poster. There is very little tradeskill quest stuff that a melee would even look at. I'm a rogue and doing the shawl quest... Just cause I dig quests and tradeskills, but that shawl is gonna collect dust in my bank. I'd LOVE to be able to turn it in for something else.

Darn it, I want ONE PIECE of gear on me that has extra hit points and NO **** MANA!!!!

I was just saying that he excluded only alchemy, making it so only gnomish rogues would have a reasonable chance of obtaining it - everyone else would have to rely on 5% success and hope-for-no-min-skill-required on the trophy combines (poison trophy had a min req skill for a little while).

Hmm, I wonder if Tingteng is a gnomish rogue ... could be method to this madness

For the people complaining the Shawl is too caster based... what do you think the Coldain ring quest was for? Ok, doesn't have much in way of tradeskills involved but can be considered easier in some aspects.

I guess I wasn't the only one still hoping for a GM trophy of trophies....

I know we've heard it before - no plans for a GM Trophy for all 7 tradeskills but I would be that most of us get our 2nd, 3rd, 4th trophy because we can. It doesn't add anything we don't already have (stats are the same sans modifier). We don't get an extra permanent summoned bag. So why not have a quest where you can turn in your 2 trophies (say JC and brewing) for 1 trophy with +modifiers for BOTH JC and Brewing.

Granted that would add more items to the database but since they are doing that with GOD I don't see it an issue. But if it was, then a GM trophy of trophies - all 7 base tradeskills with + modifiers for all 7 tradeskills. All other stats the same.

For me, 7 trophies would be bragging rights. That is all. If they added improved stats, I would be concerned a bit about people tradeskilling just for that, but since AG is already in place, that concern is probably moot.

Oh just another item to /feedback..

Actually as a pure melee I use the 2nd and 3rd trophy for stats, wis is a bit tricky to come by.

Well the ring isnt very good. Even if you get the 10th ring its far too easy to buy a better ring stat wise. The shawl however with ft3 and a buff extending focus makes it uber at almost any level (except for time geared). I'd say a trade skill quest for melee would be nice to help balance things out. Even the aid grimel earring (im my opinion) is unbalanced towards casters.

breakdown should be for best benefit something like this
pure caster maybe pure int and pure wis seperate
                        pure melee
                        hybrid

where they all get slighty different items. more hp and no mana on pure melee. more mana than hp on pure caster. higher int wis on pure caster than hybrid but extra str, agi, and dex. highest str, agi, and dex on pure melee.

that would require three seperate quests though unless it started like the shawl quest and you had the captain's burlap shawl, arcane burlap shawl, holy burlap shawl, and (something hybrid sounding) burlap shawl. given out by class from the toes portion and then all other steps the same. would be harder to make though but i would like it.
Actually thats something that can kinda be fixed already, say they have 3 all all items....kinda like the Velious benevolence quests. One is say a range slot, one a bracer , one a pair of boots?? that have stats on em that are nice. Heck id LOVE to see more items that can be made with say things like just generally usefull spells, like see invis etc... that DONT take multiuple GM quests in the elementals. either that or something with permanent affects... like an earing with regen2 or something or tradeskilled items with more then ONE aug slot? or u use a tradeskill to MAKE another aug slot...higher the aug slot the better chance u will fail and either loose an item u can buy from the adv camps like the stones to remove augs, or a RARE possibility you loose it all. By rare less than 50%. would be nie to add on say another slot, but say max of slot type 3? Heck for that matter allow 2 adds.. but again the max u can add is a lvl 3 aug? I admit i kinda like the augs u an add but suks that u got to give up that nice pair of boots etc that a friend bought u for ur birthday, for another pair not so nice just to be able to add 2 augs to it....its not TO far fetched.. and if u limit it to max lvl 3 augs, etc... wont make things to over powering...

i wouldn't mind things with no drop subcombines on other skills before the final combine is droppable. look at royal velium armor. for the day it was pretty nice stats. padding is no drop and the gems are no drop then you smith it and (minor step) get a droppable peice of good gear. don't think even 200 trivials should be needed in other combines but say the temper is 132 brewing and the padding is 120 tailor for a smithing amror of 200ish. give stats like ldon stuff but not require high level farming like pop or tae ew.
ideally it would be something only a multiple skill person could make and be decent. make something like a centi longsowrd require 220+ smithing, 150 brewing for temper, 150 tailor for handle wrap, and 50 jc for gem studded pommel. it shouldn't require all tradeskills for every peice but nicer the more involved. some neat stuff would be nice like eb, ultravision, or lev effects on items or augs. not really rare drops but not store bought if possible. make it worth smithing instead of farming for a centi. the firery weapons and most others are nothing compared to drops of similar level until maybe black acrylia and tae ew. the seru bane weapons are good decent use weapons but the temper and metal are so rare and no drop so can't trade them. still not a lower level item to make anyway.
maybe tailor would require bonning and tannin and temper for boning. i basically want mid level power stuff than can be gotten by mid levels. i'm not farming pop and don't expect elemental stuff to come out of it but wouldnt object to several upgrades along the way. most caster stuff player made is a joke compared.

stopping because i've been sidetracked. stuff like royal velium for middle people with several skills. would like something similar stats to 150-200 baking stuff for brewing in that middle range. things like mtps with sucombines from different skills or the potc quest where involving cultural where one person couldn't make it all.

minor dead horse. i still want decent int caster stuff for erudite tailors and sol ro deity caster armor. if you make sol ro plate or leather instead of silk i will lose it.

                            Helloo there :>

Two items I would like to see are augs for geerloks, and another quest like the Solstice earring. Make those geerloks 10 pct i/s of 5 pct or something like that. And by another quest like the Solstice earring, I mean where the end components are dropable/sellable. That way we can bring trade skills back into the local econimics of EQ. I remember having about 180 in baking during the start of the solstice earring quest, making only a couple of sucesses out of 200 combines, and selling them for a profit. Even with the recent amount of GM due to the Aid Grimel quest, your average one GM skill players could make back some that they lost to get to GM status. Just my 2 copper pieces worth. :>

                              Paths to the Top

In my opinion it makes sense that there should be many paths to the "top" equipment in the game. Tradeskillers should be able to create or quest for god-like equipment, raiding guilds should be able to raid for it and groups and non-raiding guilds should be able to take a shot at it. There are many ways to play this game and there should be that many ways to the "top" of it.
