    2) a couple of guilds get in the elementals. They farm items which get turned into items via recipes discovered and posted here. These items get given to their members with the intention that if they upgrade, they pass it to another member. In the meantime.. xp groups from these guilds pick up comps and either give to guild or sell them as tradeskill ingredients in the bazaar for hefty amounts. Tradeskillers pick up these items and are able to charge the normal equation fee because there aren't that many items of that type being sold while the demand for it in guilds that aren't elementally capable is quite high
Could not agree more Quilliam. This is EXACTLY what happened in my guild. All supplies collected on raids went to the guild vualt and items were made by the resident 250 in the needed skill on request or randomly. Also, exp groups would regularly load me down with gathered supplies.

As requests for items became fewer and fewer, we started allowing anyone who desired to get supplies. These were mostly people wanting to make armor for a twink.

I will agree that the number of tempers required for Elemental Plate BP's and Legs is ridiculous though. I mean come on. 6 tempers for the first try?? At least the second try only takes 5 since you already have a chain link left over from the first set of combines.

But that being said, it's not entirely impossible to make the plate. For example I have made the following Farwater pieces:

    3 Farwater Plate BPs
    3 Farwater Plate Legs
    5 Farwater Scale Leggings
    2 Farwater Plate Sleeves

That's roughly 44 tempers, and that's not even counting fails.

What i'm wondering is why so many tempers needed for just one piece? PoP stuff is the only armor i can think of that requires a temper for every combine of (studs, sheets, chain links, etc.), and with the rarity of all the items needed for the tempers. Why not make PoP armor like the other armors, (acrylia, LDoN, cultural) and just require the temper for the actual armor combine?

keep it hard so items are decent

I wouldn't have a problem with items taking multiple tempers with expensive components, multiple 350 skill combines, etc, if the results were worth it. If an item is an upgrade and is easy to make it seems like it will be compared to the nodrop, nontradeskilled drops off the same mobs and get nerfed.
