  • Skillup XP bar

Got to thinking....What if there was a Skillup XP bar for skills. I mean, you go out and fight mosters and NPCs, and as you do so, you get better at it. Why not the same thing with tradeskills? On higher-end skillups, if programmed right, might make it to where you dont have to do as many combines to get that skillup.

There are games that do just this.

EQ doesn't do that right now. But, EQ II reportedly has like it.

I have always believed that if you are successful on a non-trivial combine, you should get experience for it.

I read the same thing as Loth. In EQ2, the process of combine is like a combat session. Things will happen and you have to react. Overheat metal, pour water, fire dying, add fuel, or something like that. So each combine is like a fight and you get tradeskill xp for the effort.

and a success if you do it better. i am really looking forward to eq2 that way. the sight has the 4 end class tradeskill classess. i am looking at everything but the alchemist. too bad eqtraders isn't expanding to eq2. i will sorely miss this.
