Got to thinking....What if there was a Skillup XP bar for skills. I mean, you go out and fight mosters and NPCs, and as you do so, you get better at it. Why not the same thing with tradeskills? On higher-end skillups, if programmed right, might make it to where you dont have to do as many combines to get that skillup.

I read the same thing as Loth. In EQ2, the process of combine is like a combat session. Things will happen and you have to react. Overheat metal, pour water, fire dying, add fuel, or something like that. So each combine is like a fight and you get tradeskill xp for the effort.Dark Elf Sage. Celestial Rising . Xev

and a success if you do it better. i am really looking forward to eq2 that way. the sight has the 4 end class tradeskill classess. i am looking at everything but the alchemist.
too bad eqtraders isn't expanding to eq2. i will sorely miss this.
