The n00bies guide to making plat and being the tradeskillers best friend

A recent experiment of mine has been to start up two chars (enc/dru) from scratch in a duo with a friend. No twinkage, no nothing, and make our way up.

Currently in a Time-enabled guild, I've found some of the joy of newbiehood lost, and on non-raid days decided to make this little fun experiment.

This is, however, irrelevant, my point with this post is to make a concise list of drops often used in tradeskills of trivial mobs, which can be sold in bazaar for a decent price.

This is what I've come up with after a short tour of the different forums, feel free to add to the list :-)

- Wolf and mammoth meat (halas pies)
- Foraged items for mtps (vegetables and fruits)
- Swirling Mist
- Pelts to make leather padding
- Spiderling and spider silk for tailoring and padding
- Rockhopper pelts
- Greyhopper hides
- Essence of Shadow
- Essence of Sunlight (chromodracs in SF)
- Brownie parts
- Cobalt cod (fished - CS)
- Shade and Shadeling Silk (ST?)
- Chunks of Condensed Shadow, Fire and Ice
- Swirling shadow
- Elven and dwarven blood
- Essence of Moonlight
- Permafrost Crystals (ground spawn in Permafrost)
- Lightstones
- Ice Goblin Blood
- Velium of all types: pieces, bricks, and blocks
- Acrylia of all types: pieces, bricks, and blocks
- LDoN Temper components: Goblin Bones, Ice Lichen, Pondweed, Gargoyle Granite, and Sand Verbena
- Crystalline Silk
- Saltwater Seaweed (fished in Timorous Deep and the Ocean of Tears)

- Dark Elf meat
- Lava Rock
- Zombie Skin
- Iron Oxide

Apologies if a such list already exists, I haven't been able to locate in on this site. I realize that there is a list of ingredient drops by zone and such, but what I would like to make, is a list of easily obtainable items, with the purpose of selling them and making the life of other tradeskillers easier.

Chunks of Condensed (substance) -- typically Shadow, but also Fire and Ice
Swirling Shadow
Rockhopper pelts -- Superb, Flawless, and all Quality
Greyhopper Hides
Elven and Dwarven blood (depending on your race/alignment and where you hunt)
Shade and Shadeling Silk
Saltwater Seaweed (fished)
Cobalt Cod (fished)
Brownie parts

As you get a bit higher:
Essence of Shadow
Essence of Sunlight
Mugs of Sea Foam
Fine Steel weapons to melt into ore ... or just sell for cash.

Actually, Wolf meat is sold on a vendor in Shadowhaven (not sure 'bout Thurgadin).

Offering a few suggestions, since I've been a supply farmer for ages:

Drop of Mercury
Swirling Mist
Dark Elf meat (or any racial meat, though DE seems to be the most requested)
Lava Rock
Zombie Skin
Iron Oxide (still needed to make Divine Crystalline Glaze, though its use as an armor dye has fallen by the wayside)

Add a few levels and you can go after:

Essence of Wind
Windstone

And while selling this stuff is nice, making things from the items you've farmed is even more satisfying.

hehe you missed morning dew. :b good thinking though. shade silk isn't used past 88 tailor and shadeling silk is only used in leather padding. shadeling silk must be used with rockhopper hides so it sells for less than spiderling silk.

Permafrost Crystals (ground spawn in Permafrost, and I think it can be looted there too)
Lightstones (for Alchemy -- I don't think it uses Greater Lightstones, but I'm not sure)
Ice Goblin Blood

Velium of all types: pieces, bricks, and blocks
Acrylia of all types: pieces, bricks, and blocks
LDoN Temper components: Goblin Bones, Ice Lichen, Pondweed, Gargoyle Granite, and Sand Verbena
Crystalline Silk

A popular drop that isn't tradeskill related: Bone chips

Essence of Sunlight drops off Chromadracs and Elder Chromadracs in Skyfire; off Sand Giants in North Ro, South Ro, and Oasis; and off Faerie Dragons in Wakening Lands.

Saltwater Seaweed is fished in Timorous Deep and the Ocean of Tears.

Aren't Drops of Mercury vendor sold now?

permafrost crystals drop from at least the ice goblin mobs in perma.
esscense of winter for barb cultural only from ice giants and yetis in dl.
hq brute hide can be gotten early in warslik woods from brutes there. used in halfling cultural i think.

HQ Lion Skins (very rare)

Tea Leaves (foraged in EK)
